Does Volkl have any plans to put out anymore Becker Frames?

The Becker Line was very good there for a while. Would love to see the re-release of the Melbourne or the BB mid. Great frames.

Seems highly unlikely. Becker went through bankruptcy proceedings a few years ago and even sold off his trophies this past summer, so I suspect his prior financial stake in Volkl is long gone.

Volkl could make replicas of the BB Melbourne. I am pretty certain they still have the molds. The issue is why should they when they would have to license the use of BB's name. The other issue is graphite fiber/sheets are different now than when the BB was produced. Making the frame with current products would probably result in something slightly different from the original. Volkl has a logical series of frames right now and I do not see a need for them to get involved with older frames. That's what the Big Auction site is for.

The current Volkl line up has nothing that can hold a candle to The Melbourne or the old mid 90. The delta core line up had a very unique feel to them that I have not found in any other frame. Why couldn't Volkl use the the Melbourne mold and re release it under say "Volkl melbourne 2020"? they own the technology, not Becker, correct?.

basil J,

At this time, we aren't aware of any Becker racquets being released or re-released.

Sorry,

Would be great to see a re-release of the Melbourne and even the London Tour.

I really enjoyed playing with Boris Becker Delta Core London for many years. I now use the Wilson Blade 98 16 x 19 v7. They have some similarities in playability but the Blade has a little more power but both have a buttery feel at impact.
