Does your tennis bag brand match your racquet brand?

Originally, they did match. Head racquets with a Head bag.

But I really liked the design and construction of the Yonex Pro Stand bag (it is very similar to the old style baseball / softball locker bags that I use) so I switched to it. My old Head bag is just used for storage at home.

Guess I’m the minority here. Playing Wilson BLX 2010 six one 95 frames with the BLX red/black/gold Federer bag. I think it just happens that I’ve always played Wilson frames and like Wilson bags. Im a tad bias when it comes to frame/ bag combos. I’ve always tried to purchase my bag around the same time I decide on a main frame. I tinker and try different frames but my main frame doesn’t change often so I don’t mind buying the bag at the same time as the frame. If i didn’t use Wilson bags I would use something from a clothing brand like Nike, or adidas since I wear the clothing.

Honestly finding a bag that suits your needs and preferences is much more important than matching brands. Designs vary greatly brand to brand and year to year. Finding the right size, features and even colors that you like is more important.

I put all my racquets (Babolat, Yonex, Wilson) into Babolat x12s, they are perfect for me, I hope they continue with the yearly Wimbledon editions in green or white because I don't like the PD and PA colors.

i now have multiple Wilson and Angell rackets in a Babolat 12 Wimbledon edition (white and gold). great bag, fits everything i ever needed (as well as my daughters' stuff when we go for a hit). as much as i liked the white and gold colours, it gets dirty very easily... lol the bottome (where it stands up right) is very dirty.

a green/white/gold edition for 2020 would be very nice... as much as the green colour is the main colour :-D

I never have matched the bag and racquet. Not interested in making it happen on purpose either. I buy the equipment I use by function over anything else. Bag must do whatever I need it to carry.
I used red Wilson bag for years. My family bought it for me. Used Volkl racquets. Needed a bigger inside area so I bought one that fit the stuff I carried, found a Dunlop bag on sale that did the trick. Switched over to Kneissl racquets and then over to Yonex racquets.

I’ve been using the Wilson Clash duffle style bag with a Clash, a few Blades and a Babolat PA in there. Bag is nice but I miss being able to put my bag on my back and have my hands free. I have an OCD disorder where the bag brand has to match the racket brand. I don’t know why, but there’s a sense of balance for me that way. I get grief from the pros at my club who make comments that if I switch a racket I will have to switch bags, too. Some guys think anything more than a racket sleeve is too showy and they feel more pressure to play well. They like to remain unassuming. Me, I like big roomy bags. I carry a bunch of stuff and I don’t need to carry a second bag if I go from work straight to a match, so I can change out of work clothes and into tennis clothes and keep everything (shoes, socks, etc) in one bag.

No. I use a babolat pure aero bag but a Wilson Clash. I used to play with the Pure Aero, hence the bag.
But I like it and do not wanna change. But if I get a chance to sell the babolat bag, I will switch because my OCD is driving me crazy.

But I also play in full Nike gear. Black and white. I cannot stand to play with let's say adidas wrist bands...my eye starts twitching. It even bothers me when my opponent has adidas shorts and nike shirt.

Used to be all babolat - racquet, shoes, & bag... but now I have 2 yonex sticks, while using the babolat bag & shoes.

EDIT: got a new yonex bag :)

Wilson bags for life, even though I haven’t used their racquets in ten years.

Someone just liked this post.

I'm sad to report I'm using a Babolat bag now, lol

Still using the Wilson Burn 15 for clay and indoor/night matches. Bab for daytime outdoor matches, since it's white.

I currently have the Wilson Clash Tour and I have a 15 racquet Wilson tour tennis bag. It does somewhat match the gray in my racquet though. I don’t like the current Wilson Clash bags they have available. The current Clash bag is a duffle style and they do not offer the normal tour style bag in the US yet. I do like coordinating gear, it looks better more professional.

Since we’re updating. I’ve since made the switch to Yonex and yes I have the matching bag as well. TW Europe had a two racquet and bag deal. It was a no brainer. Loving Yonex btw.

To be honest, I can't think what make my bag is? It's royal blue! Possibly Head? My racquets are Wilson.

My current bag is a Babolat one. My rackets (which are being rotated) are 1 Babolat, 1 Prince, 1 Volkl, 1 WIlson, 2 Head and 3 Yonex.
So I guess the answer is... some days!?

Currently yes, but not necessarily. I own two wilson racqets and I sometimes carry an old spare mediocre babolat racquet. My bag is a wilson one that is not too big (2-3 racquets). I chose it because I liked its size and its colours (half red - half black). I previously owned an old Head 'intelligence' radical bag, that I liked for the same reason: black and orange colours. I have never hit with a Head racquet in my life.

For years it did. Hell, I even tracked down a 10 yr old bag to go w/ my old Fischer Black Granite Pro No 1s. But, ever since I picked up a Prince Tour 9 pack, I've changed my ways:

The thing has tons of pockets & zippers, a nice shoe compartment, cooler for my drink, etc. The only drawback is only one side has the thermal lining, but I only have 3 frames, and rarely leave them in my car, so its not deal breaker for me. Of course...it helps that it matches my frame perfectly:

I've always liked my bag and rackets to be of the same manufacturer. Currently Yonex on both counts.

I had a red Wilson bag that I used for about 4 years... always had Wilson racquets, but Blades. My bag was worn out when I switched to the Gravity, and I got a deal on a Gravity bag through PTR.

Lol - that seems to be loads of work just to swap out the bag often... maybe I am just too lazy to empty all pockets between bags.
which white Bab bag do you have:)

lol, who said anything about emptying the bags?

Since 2015 I have accumulated enough gear/shoes/racquets to fill two bags, which is mostly why I did it. The Wilson bag is starting to show some age and the carry handles are falling apart, but it wasn't bad enough to retire outright.

The new bag is the largest Bab Pure-whatever, the white/orange one that TW were blowing out for $50 a few months ago. I feel like a lot of us must have bought one, did you snag one too?

Lol - yeah can’t imaging to have to empty all pockets between the bags.
Yes , I currently have the white/gold Wimbledon version, i think it is the 2019 version. The 3 main compartments are huge with two thermo side compartments and an useful shoe section.

The shoe pocket, and having the backpack straps up top instead of on the bottom (dirty) side, were what sold me. The nicest surprise was how useful the side pockets are.

My Wilson has big main compartments with thermo and moisture resistance, but the additional pockets for small items are awful. They are tiny and intrude into the main compartments where your racquet handles would be.

Yeah all true on the Bab. I do like the straps on top! But I wish both the outside pockets are the same size (the large one) lol
I tried to look for something similar from Head recently, but was unsuccessful, so I will stick with the Bab lol

Lol - I’m sure it is a good bag but am not a Djoker fan, so that won’t happen for me. Lol

Same. I can't stand Rafa, but would have considered the RG version of the bag I got.

But having Djok's signature on my bag was just too much.

I confess that, in my fettered youth, I did match bag and racquet. But now, I've come clean and use Adidas' excellent bag with my Prince, Head and Völkl racquets. BTW, that Adidas bag is a superior design. Unlike the traditional bag where all your stuff jams together in the bottom when you hang it on the fence, the Adidas shape makes everything easy to find and it is super comfortable to carry with backstraps.

Of course. Unfortunately I switch brands so often and have to throw the old bag away in order for the brands to match. Costs a fortune but well worth not getting caught with mismatched racquet and bag! How embarrassing would that be!

After a racquet switch I'm now using a Yonex full length backpack bag with Head Graphene Touch Prestige Pro racquets. Brands don't match, but the colors do.

Growing up, I always played Prince racquets. The bag matched as well. Stopped playing back in the mid 2000s but got back into it summer of '18 and my bag I had was just old. Tracked down the discontinued Nike Court Tech 1 bag and I'll never go back! I love that bag!!

I'm just waiting for Wilson to buy out Prince, so that my equipment (Prince) matches my bag (Wilson). :)
I've looked, but it really is a bag to hold the sticks, and I don't care.
I'm obviously not sponsored, but I own and played with Prince rackets all my life.
- Prince Graphite Pro
- 4 Prince Approach 90's
- 4 POGs (midsize) - latest

I tried the Donnay, Dunlop Max 300G, and ProStaffs back in the day (80's and 90s), but Prince has stood strong as my racket of choice. I hope they make a strong comeback.

[Prince rep, if you hear me, I'd love to display your bag with my gear; got any free 8 racket bag samples? ;)]

I got a great deal on that same bag off the auction site when tenniswarehouse was giving away a free one with the purchase of a Prince beast racquet. It is a great bag.
