Dominic Thiem is the 2nd ever player to have at least 5 wins against all members of the Big 3.

Thiem is probably the fifth best player of all time at this point. He doesn’t have the numbers yet, but he has been able to hang with the three best players of all time.

It has seriously took this long for someone other than Murray to have 5 wins against them? That is a statistic i was not aware of and i'm shocked and equally impessed by. Berdych/Tsonga never managed it? I would have thought one of them must have done it.

Nadal and Djokovic were both horrible matchups for Berdych. He doesn't have 5 wins against any of them, and he played them LOTS of time.

Yeah i just looked it up myself. Tsonga came extremely close, he needed just 1 more win against Nadal to achieve it. Crazy statistic.

Because he played most of the matches past their physical primes.

Not better than Andy Murray.

That’s why I said fifth best. And they may be past their primes, but not too far past. Brad Gilbert just stated that Federer peaked in 2017. Just an opinion, but not a crazy one.

Not surprising. He's No.3 in the world and he's 27, five or six younger than them, 12 years younger than Federer.
It's not an impressive stat.

IW and Madrid 2019 were displays of unclutchness by roger

Federer also had 2 MPs in Stuttgart 2016 vs Thiem.

Federer earned a match-point opportunity at 6/5, but missed a high volley to wrap up the contest. Thiem erased another match point at 7/6 with a passing shot winner, then received a set point of his own after Federer missed a drop shot. He took advantage by wrapping up the set with an overhead winner and play was suspended immediately after due to rain.

If Fed were clutch/solid in those matches, it could been 3-4 or 4-3 or 5-2
