Dominic Thiem's new strings at Indian Wells

NO, not it. thiem never uses isospeed
Well, that's certainly not true. In his young years he played the Isospeed Professional.
Furthermore it is wrong from my perception that head strings are not good.
Many Head strings are really tested in advance with professionals. E.g. from the Hawk there were 4 different test strings - the Hawk 3 was finally released as the best development and is available as a purchase string for all of us. This string is made by Isospeed according to the specifications of Head.
You can recognize it by the yellow sticker - this is an ISO test number where you can trace back the production. But not all strings are made at Isospeed. E.g. the series of Head Lynx in all colours and also the new development of Experimental.

Btw- I also have the Head Stringing Machine TE- 3300 - a great machine - but I'm not the guy on the photo.

yes I agree. but this is bit curious. Head strings haven't been very popular in the past. I wonder what is prompting the pros to switch to head strings ?? putting money aside, is head strings that good ?
Some pros that use HEAD strings officially: Zverev brothers, Basilashvili, Simon, Fritz, Haase, Davidovich Fokina, Ash Barty, Bianca Andreescu, ...

I was the first to suggest it was Bashas string at the start of this thread to reduce his spin trajectory
and have more of Bashas flat power. Either way I dont suggest anyone try emulate Thiem`s game,
Nadal`s or any of the pros game except for maybe Fognini`s simpler techniques :)

Wilson Ultra 18 x 20 with lead on the handle with heavier 1.35mm solinco tour bite will be easier to
wield with better results than wielding Thiems setup at 60% of the racquet head speed he achieves.
People dont realize how much racquet head speed these guys can create on a consistent basis.
Craziest of all is Fed and Wawrinka swinging with crazy head speed 370+ grams which is almost
20-50 grams more than the rest of the field.

Any more news on this?
It looks like Dominic Thiem is still using regarding HEAD strings. Saw him in Rome. As far as I have heard from well-informed sources the champagne colored and edged HEAD strings, Thiem seems to use as mains, will be released later this year. The white HEAD HAWK he seems to use as crosses is already on the market quiete a while now.

Seeing he is the poster boy for Pure Strike I'm surprised he is allowed to use non-Babolat strings.

Interesting, besides Isner i wouldnt know any other high ranked player who uses a poly-poly hybrid too.

Probably not for long. These Swiss are getting older and would better of swinging a bit less mass. Less is more you know. ;):alien:

I didn't say they were, but in this particular case, it would appear at this stage that they will be supplying Head with this sting for them to re brand; used to be a big fan of IntelliString and polyolefin technology btw, at least until Head's Australian distributor stopped bringing it in as, for some strange reason, it wasn't selling at AU $35 a set, and then, despite the string no longer being available retail in Australia, stopped me from grey ordering it myself through TW USA - killer company...

If you read (some of) the previouse posts carefully, you will realize that the supplier of this new HEAD string is somebody else than you expect. :)

Did you try HEAD Rip Control which is basically similar to the Rip Tour "part" of the Intellitour Hybrid? Rip Control is available in AUS as far as I know.

RIP Control is good, especially durability wise, but Intellistring - used to use the black/yellow - was far more plush and powerful, much like a more durable multi. Intellitour was good too, but not at AU retail price.
Intellistring was ahead of it's time, and played a bit like a multi/poly hybrid does, in the same way that 'Blondie' 'invented' rap with 'Rapture' - i.e. a primordial version.

My daughter will probably do work and holiday in Australia on September, another year.
I still have a set of the Intellitour with me. Would love to give it to you when she goes to Australia.
Greetings from Austria

You’re all welcome...posted it here before, but they deleted it for some reason, the magical string is Head, not Babolat Rpm power or whatever ******** they told at the meeting.

As an Austrian tennis player I have now tested the "Thiem combination": Experimental main (1.30) and the Hawk 3 cross (1.25). The Tension i used was: Expermiental 23,5kg and Hawk 3 (25kg)
I think there is a lot of power/ spin out and you need less effort!

At the serve, I felt the most difference. The Serves are certainly 10-15km / h faster. To the basic/ground strokes can be said that an enormous power comes out, provided you hit the ball clean.
The touch is really good too. Probably even better with 1.25 experinental.
The durability: I played through 1.5h and held well. Otherwise, the average durability is between 30-45min due to the enormous spin. Therefore, the durability with the combination is really top.

In summary, the combination is really great. Enormous power / spin and a good feeling of touch with a good durability.

Huge Shoutout to HEAD for this awesome String!

mobility sure is an issue for the barrel bodies thin limbed Slavic Swiss beast but the 95D does no one any favors
its like Feds 90 inch unit with the same amount of power, less feel and almost same amount of spin.
A late VC98 would do wonders in every department at around 358 grams and 340 swing weight.
I went from 376gsm 95D to a 360gsm Rd7 and never hit a harder ball, way more feel and flukey gets
thanks to its ridiculous dwell time, full drive halve volley winners are easy to control.

I like the old sayings that used to be on the racquets. Smarter racquet better game, Pure Energy Perfect Power, and Power In Control.

10-15 km/h is a huge difference for a string to make, actually almost unheard of statistically, especially on an easily empirically measurable shot like the serve, so quite a splash for your first post . Are you able to tell us the actual manufacturer?

How long have you been using that racquet, is it the "pro" as they are incredibly powerful even in stock form
Im not sure how it would compare to the PS v3 if its the pro model, as they have fairly erratic string beds

Playing this racquet now more or less about one year. This is radical „MP“ about 315g (customized) definitely not stock form ;-)

Interesting, since this was posted last month:
I'm impressed with all of your sleuthing. ;) Since Dominic joined Babolat, he has been heavily involved in the development and evolution of the Pure Strike line. We encourage all players, including our pros, to test, demo, track, and experiment to find the best equipment for their game. Stay tuned for some big news during the summer season.

And for the record, there are certain things I'm at liberty to discuss and certain things I’m not. Dominic has requested we not share any information regarding his racquet at this time. Love it, hate it, call it what you will, but that's how it works: we always have to respect the wishes of our tour players.

LOL what butteflies some peeps prefer, I found both the MP and Pro had alot of pop but control was lacking
then going up in weight to 350gsm with lead on the handle and 3 and 9 oclock hit everything was even worse.
