This is his last chance, I feel to finally get something going. At least make Simon work, he basically got back from injury a few weeks ago

Simon is running at 50% as he is dismantling DY. It is amazing how Simon looks underpowered against some players and he is just destroying DY...

Why did he get a wild card? I thought USTA told him no more.

I thought he got directly in.

I am not surprised at this result. Young isnt known for his power or his consistency. Simon also isnt known for his power but he sure is known for his consistency and he isnt going to lose to someone with even less power who isnt at all consistent.

You obviously didn't watch the match, because Simon is just creaming those short balls Donald Duck is feeding him.

BTW, bet your happy Verdasco forgot to poop your party yesterday.

In the grand scheme of the ATP Gilles Simon is not known as a power player, in fact he is one of the softest hitters to make the top 10 in the last couple decades. I shouldnt even need to explain that but I guess with you everything needs to be spelled out. Of course he is still able to overpower Donald Young.

I dont even know what you are trying to imply. I dont even pay attention to Clowndasco, the worst top 10 player since Gilles Simon. But yeah he goes 5 sets to some nobody in the 1st round, I am sure you should be excited as your man is set for a big run at this U.S Open, ROTFL! I bet Nadal is dreading their anticipated quarterfinal (not that he will even likely get there).

No, Simon is not "one of the softest hitters". I think we can all remember Paris 08 where he blew your boy Nadal off the court. As we all know, you can't just push the ball back into play against Nadal or he will make you do a lot of running, which Simon did not do. But honestly, there is nothing for you to spell out, since you fail (as usual) to even recognise that Simon can rip the ball.

I'm incredibly sorry that Verdasco did not exit the tournament yesterday, as we all know you love him soo much and you want him to do as well as he possibly can! But anyway, i know you were on the edge of your seat when Verdasco almost snatched that victory in Australia against your boy. I actually think Nadal could be troubled by Verdasco if they met on the fast hard court of the US Open, since it suits Verdasco game MUCH MORE than NAdal's. And don't you tell me Nadal's been convincing this hard court season because you know very well he hasn't, and could lose to anyone who's on fire.

Nadal will get spanked by Murray whatever happens, LOL.

Simon is undoubtedly a soft hitter. But it doesn't take power hitting to blow Nadal away - Murray does it routinely.

So, Nadal is prone to lose against hard hitters like Soderling and Del Potro and soft hitters like Simon and Murray? Who can be beat then?

You obviously did not watch the Paris match. Simon certainly did not overpower Nadal and to say he blew him off the court is laughable. He actually outgrinded and outlasted Nadal, beating him at his own game, and even so still was a bit of a miracelous win as he had to save all kinds of game and break points to barely eke past Nadal at the end.

And I couldnt care whether Verdasco goes out 1st round to some unknown or gets spanked in the 3rd round by Nalbandian. Either way he is an irrelevance in the big picture of his tournament. As for Verdasco beating Nadal, LOL!
