Donaldson has his ducks in a row!

Disgusted by the utter inability of USTA player development, and fearing that he would end up with a mockery of a forehand like Tommy Paul, Christian Harrison, Francis Tiafoe, et al. he went to Buenos Aires to train on the red, knowing full well that no Argentine on earth has a bad forehand, and that neither of his coaches could help in that department.

Now sufficiently equipped he is prepared to assault the tour.

I am a fan.

He does have his act together. If any of the next gen Americans win a slam I expect it to be him.

By far the best "nextgen" American player to date

He strings something together at the US Open and the train will be choo chooing

Got to see him play last year front row at the US Open when he beat Troiki on Court 13 to go to R3. He definitely has a swagger and confidence about him (and a forehand) that other young Americans lack. Fully expect him to be the first American nextgener to win a slam and im glad that an American finally decided to develop through his teens on red clay for once.

I beat Jared Donaldson 6-2 6-0 It's painful to see this up and coming group spoken so highly of. Most of them were such a*******.

Relevancy: it's painful to see this up and coming group spoken so highly of. Most of them were such a*******.
Nope. You said you beat him. Then you said most of them "were". Twice you reference the past and that you had a part in his (you say you beat him) and you imply in the others as well.
So the ??? stands.

I was loving this post (that match was on the old Ct 2, correct?) until you got to the 'red clay' - all the younger Americans have decent BHs - the Brad Gilbert 'we have to have red clay courts to train on' is garbage. The top juniors just need to realize there's more to tennis than a big serve, FH. Looks like that's happened. The Isner/Sock/Johnson group served as a good bad example.

Donaldson, at least to look at him, thinks he belongs out there. Attitude matters.

Skinny Legs Donaldson was done if he hadn't closed out the 4th set tiebreaker on Tuesday. He was cramping badly. And the weather was pleasant. I have grave doubts he can go five, if required. Though he has great fight in him. It's something Tsitsipas has to get fast after his horrible finish against Mahut.

I am from Buenos Aires, and I can’t bear how could nobody tell me about our mighty forehands
