DonDiego's claim to racquetholics 7 kingdoms crown thread

Just made this my racquet of choice! Love the low swingweight and low power combo! Serves aren't as fast as other sticks but the accuracy is better. 2nd serves are better though. OHBH is great with this frame!

Played tonight with it. It was exactly as you described, and just as I thought, my one-hander came back with a vengeance. Serves lost some pace though, but it was expected. I have a feeling my consistency will go up with this stick, as you can really swing freely without fear of hitting long. A great stick to get your rythm back flowing if you lost it. I need to give it more match time.

Played tonight with the Blade 98s. 2 Hours of singles. The racquet is really, really good. I've put two ovegrips so it's like adding 10 grams in the handle. It's comfortable, very nice-looking, more maneuverable than the regular Blade (though still a bit too head-heavy for my taste), and very solid. I had zero problem with flat drives, and the control is outstanding. Frankly, I don't notice any difference compard to a 16x19 racquet. Only downside for me is that it's a bit too powerful for my game (strung with Head Hawk @ 56 lbs), and the balance is a bit strange to me (I'm used to Prestige mp). But for all of you out there who wish the Blade 18x20 was a bit more maneuverable and more forgiving, you have to give this one a try. Very good offering by Wilson.

It's been 4 weeks now that I'm playing with the BLX Pro Open. Win or loose (and I'm winning a lot), I see absolutely no reason to switch. Perfect mix of everything you need in a racquet, especially if you're 40+ years old.

What would be the equivalent to this in the current Wilson line up?

TW was selling the Pro open 100 a few months ago (last year version) but they don't anymore. You can find them in other stores though.
In the current lineup, the Ultra 100 is the closest specwise, but I would demo first for sure. The feel is probably different than BLX.

Hi DonDiego, can you compare the Ig Radical MP, Graphene Speed MP and DR 98 on terms of comfort, control and spin?

Dude you've got to try Ultra Tour, RF97 and DR98 Light modified to Nadal specs

But wait, THERE IS MUCH MORE! All the rackets you've tried you need to re-try strung with proportional stringing method (Sergetti method is great!) total game changer.

Ultra Tour looks very nice but I don't see how it will differ from my Liquidmetal Radical MP.

P.S. Haven't been on this board lately, I'll add a few updates to the list.

Fortunately for me, work has taken up much of my time, plus I only play once or twice a week now. I Don't have time to go shop around.

Microgel Rad mp does it for me these days. It's light yet solid.
