Don't you just hate it when they screw up the camera angle?

I can't tell you how redicilous I find it to be, whenever a tournament is organized with big money, but they can't set up the camera angle right!?!?!?

Have you seen the WTA masters?

That's just unacceptable, the court looked twice as wide as long!!!!
The balls seemd to float thru the air, the players seemed to reach out to every ball, and still manage to get them back.
I mean, you were just totally fooled by the camera angle!

There is just no joy for me to watch tennis on TV, if they can't set the camera angle up right!

Yeah the WTA championship camera angle really takes all the pace off the ball. I prefer the level camera angle, but the best camerawork Ive ever seen was one rally during the 03' US Open where they had a courtlevel camera follow the baseline player and stand right behind him. It was not one of the pivoting cameras but a tracking shot which followed right behind the player and was really the best shot ive ever seen. Only problem is probably the difficulty and cost of showing every rally like that and also disorienting some viewers with the quick camera movement.

Tennis looks like nothing to the casual viewer from the high angle foreshortened view. Any ground level shots really put things into perspective. Some tourneys show replays from that aspect. Can't see why they all don't. And don't get me started on the many bizarre ways they ruin appreciation of the entire service motion.:(

Camera Angles

I really enjoy the camera work in The Australian Open and the U.S Open. The USO has a ground level camera that is really fine. Ithink they should use more ground level cameras especially at the Europe indoor season, Look at the Madrid and BNP Masters l, it looks like the camera is planted outside of the stadium and below they are playing that Atari game...

i love it when they go court level its the best

Me too. Also when you get to really see the player's service motion and see more what the player sees such as when they have that camera behind the players.
