i will save this post and paste it until all people read eventually
what an incredible event this turned out to be, considering that its only 3 days long, i was very afraid at the beggining of the year when fed said he wold play, me thinking that instead ot playing and event for points, he would swap it for this one, but this was so great and the sport as a whole has benefitted inmensenly.
sometimes there are more important things than points and money, and that is the sport itself (sounds redundant), money and prizes are one way to make it grow but there is also the general prestige of the sport itself and speacially the ones who have done their part in the past, including the great laver, and what a better way to honor his legacy than to have an event that players commited to not because of points, but because of the name, remember that he helped inspire many players you see today to become who they are, what if he never existed and fed or rafa didnt have that heroe to look up to? as time goes it becomes more challenging to remember the past, and its great that we remember this man while he is still alive as the contrary is the usual, so dont bash it so hard, its important to honor those who have done things in the past to shape the present, heck what if one day in 20 years we get a fedal cup or something like that, so i have to say again that this weekend was extraordinary for the sport, more thn the players themselves and i think the event will grow more as time goes
