Double Bounce hitters

This drives me nuts: When I'm rallying with a guy (ie to warm up or just to practice) and he intentionally allows the ball to bounce twice before hitting it back. I'm not talking about replying to a weak shot or a mis-hit (we all, on rare occassions, hit those on the second bounce); I'm talking about the guys who are won't move for the ball until the match starts, or who think it's ok to move back behind the baseline and wait for the second bounce--and these are, allegedly, advanced players.

Other than get (inwardly) agitated, I've never figured out how to properly react to this situation.

It drives me nuts when I am trying to warm up and the other person can't hit the ball back to me where I can hit it after one bounce and I have to let it bounce twice. I am not going to use it as some sort of approach shot... just hit the ball deep enough that I can get a good warmup in!

How in the world is this annoying?

Hit the ball over the fence, yell "Do the Harlem Shake!", and proceed to do the Harlem Shake until your opponent walks off the court.

This has got to be an April Fools thread. No one could possibly be serious about this.

Right?

Right?

This is definitley weird.

If I hit a ball in a warmup that bounces twice before it gets to my opponent, I'm usually thinking about how I didn't hit that ball very well, what went wrong exactly, and how to smooth it out on the next shot. I'm not thinking about how my annoying opponent has the nerve to not move his butt faster to get to a ball I couldn't even hit to him in a warm-up before it bounces twice.

I warm up left handed and then play right handed, always confuses them...

Me too but I start the match left-handed as well and then when they aren't expecting switch to the right hand. I learned it from Princess Bride!

I also think it's an April's fools. Never heard of this issue or thought of it. If it's a real issue hit the ball deeper to the baseline, so they either have to hit it on one bounce or back up to the fence. I have the opposite problem, warming up I hit deep and my opponent's standing in too close, on or inside the baseline, think I'm moon balling them and get annoyed, so I have to lower the trajectory into their hitting zone.

Personally, I don't like it when the opponent hits balls back to me at all during match play. Every swing I take should just be considered a winner. It would certainly make my matches easier.

Yesterday when i was hitting against the wall the ball kept coming back on two bounces.

I hit back for a while, but eventually I just decided not to put up with it anymore and walked off the court.
