Double CGS Delights and the Forehand DTL

January is an exciting month, because it marks the beginning of a new Calendar Year.
And this year, I'm even more excited because RAFA is going for the Double Career Slam to cement his status in Tennis as the Father, the Son (of God) and the Holy GOAT.

RAFA has received his best preparation EVER for the AO - I've never seen him get so much hitting practice at the IPTL, Abu Dhabi and Doha
And as the best student of the game, I'm sure 2015 has been a huge learning experience for RAFA and his game.
RAFA's indoor game has improved dramatically - he was even level at 3-3 in the third set with Federer in Basel! Oh, so close...
Djokovic and RAFA are favourites for the AO of course - and in opposite halves of the draw. I couldn't be happier about the draw as RAFA gets Wawrinka in the QF, who he destroyed in the 2015 WTF.
Then playing Murray, a baseliner, in the SF is fantastic preparation for the AO Final

And it all builds up to a climax on January 31st - and Rod Laver will be there to anoint RAFA during the presentation ceremony :p
ALL the credit, though, will go to RAFA's one shot which NO-ONE can counter: The Forehand DTL.

I'd now like to devote the rest of this post to some magnificent images/GIFS of RAFA:

About time someone made a thread for this. RAFA will get rid of anyone who stands in his way, even Monfils. He can only beat him in Doha, like he did in 2009 and 2012. But here in Australia, his forehand DTL will get rid of Monfils and will win him the GOAT crown.

Yep, just shows how Doha has absolutely NO relevance to the AO even though it provides good preparation.
RAFA leads Monfils 11-2, but Monfils straight-setted RAFA both times in 2009 and 2012!
And those were the years where RAFA won the AO and led Djokovic 4-2 in the 5th set in another 6-hour final.

Hopefully RAFA will run into Roger in the final. That would be the easiest match of ALL TIME, like a virtual bye.

He doesn't need to run into Roger, because RAFA will be confident by reaching the final
And Novak cannot beat a confident RAFA, it is 9-4 in slam H2H
And RAFA has won four of the last five slam meetings, including US Open 2013 with the most lopsided fourth set 6-1
Novak has no chance against RAFA

True. Novak stands no chance against RAFA's forehand DTL. Double career slam and GOAT crown is inevitable for RAFA, the best student of the game.

Actually, I am happy that RAFA doesn't need to play Federer.
Federer would have been horrible preparation for the Final, as RAFA would be working on his topspin cross-court instead of focusing on hitting these powerful Forehand DTL shots.
And RAFA doesn't need to hit with more topspin - he's alread maxing out at 4200 rpm.

Great ! what this forum needs more of is tennis_commentator's style.
Got to question the intelligence of anyone who makes fun of T_C due to taking him seriously for a rafa fan.

I think that's technically an Inside-In forehand - a Forehand DTL for RAFA would be hit down the right side tramlines (from our point of view in that GIF)
I see, my bad then. Still though, you have to admit it was a great shot. You could see that he hit that shot with confidence and when RAFA is confident, you know all hope is lost for his opponent. Not even Novak can handle a confident RAFA, which is why it is 9-4 in the slam h2h.

RAFA turning into GODAL with his forehand dtl. This summer of 2013 RAFA had immense confidence going undefeated on hardcourts.

Lol what a delusional thread guys! Haven't you been watching tennis this past year and a half. Nadal isn't the player he was and well Djoko is on another level to rest of tour. Be prepared to be disappointed again :D

Sad loss for RAFA today. Verdasco's Forehand DTL was firing in the 5th set, but RAFA's was nowhere to be seen.
From being 3-3 in the 3rd set of the Basel final against Federer to this

Don't worry, Nadal's loss will make him hungry and motivated, therefore I have no doubt that he will have a 3-Slam season. His form is already looking on the up.

Possibly.
Also worth remembering that this is only the 2nd time RAFA has lost in the first round of a Slam.
The other time was in 2013 (Wimbledon), and RAFA won Roland Garros and the US Open that year.

This thread needs to be kept alive. RAFA is no longer his usual self, but let's continue to celebrate the greatest Forehand DTL that ever existed. And don't worry, he'll get the Double Career Slam next year, it's all part of the plan.

RAFA, being the best student of the game that he is, learned so much from the Guru this match. I have a feeling this extensive training session will be the thing that will propel him to a 10th RG and then a 2nd AO to complete the Double Career Slam.

Well the Double Career Slam is the ultimate goal - and as RAFA's tennis starts to improve with each passing day, he should be peaking for the 2017 AO.
