Dr Ivo falls one point short

of a year-end top 100 ranking at the age of 39 and ten months. Will have to settle for #101 instead. Still, hope he starts 2019 well enough to register at least one week in the top 100 after his 40th (28 February).

Doesn’t seem likely, though. He is defending 155 points in January and February - of 589 total points. 90 at the Australian Open alone from a 3rd round finish in 2018. Oh well. Perhaps he can go on a tear one last time in an indoor event in February.

Still amazing to be fair. Karlovic has had great longevity.

He has. It helps that his serve is relatively simple and so somewhat age proof. Interesting to see whether Isner can emulate his longevity. Signs are good, given that 2018 was his best year yet at 32/33: first masters just before he turned 33, first slam semi at 33, third slam quarter at 33, first year-end top ten ranking. But still six years to go! Also, Isner seems to me to be a bit more heavily built, which wouldn’t help, if I’m right (i haven’t looked up their weight).

I think bollietteri said u have to be in top 60 to break even so I wonder if karlovic is losing money being on tour? as long as he loves it tho...I don't think isner would still play if he was ranked 100...
