one group from 8-12 yrs old, and most of them cant hit anything. some just tries to blast every ball out the fence. and another group 12-15ish that are not very good either. maybe 2-3 can actually make solid contact and get the ball over while the others are just all over the place, a lot of swing and misses, and frame shots and stuff. so games are out of the picture, what are some drills they can do that will keep em entertained with hitting balls do you think? i realize there arent 15 ways to feed balls but any help would be appreaciated.

Well I assume before you feed them balls you break down the forehand or backhand stroke step by step right? Spend a good 10-15 minutes showing them one of the strokes. Sometimes they don't use the right grip for hitting a forehand but more often they hit the ball flat and hard. Your group seems old enough and some dicipline should be in order. If they don't use the stroke that you showed them, then make them run a lap around the court. Feed the ball slowly and high so that they can remember the mechanics of the strokes. It doesn't really matter if they get it in or not, right away but if they have good form then they are well on their way to improvement.
