drop weight VS spring tension VS electronic

Want to invest in getting a stringer. Want something cheap but still great quality. Do not know how to string rackets yet. Have a fxp radical. Currently looking at the Gamma X2 and Silent Partner e.Stringer. Which will I get the best bang for my buck. I am not stringing that many racquets. What is the difference between each of these types of strings(dw, st, electronic)? Which do you think would best suit suit me?

In danger of self-promotion, I think dropweight suits you better. Both machines feature floating clamps and 2-point mount system, but a dropweight is more accurate than a crude electric tensioner from e.Stringer.

I agree lethalfang, get yourself a good ol' dropweight. It may take you a bit longer but I think you'll be happier with the results. Learn some good techniques and ask questions on this board and you'll be set, xtremerunnears also has an excellent video guide on stringing racquets on an X-2.

Another vote for the drop weight. If you like stringing, you will easily be able to sell the x-2. Not much can go wrong with a drop weight if properly cared for...

I heard that the SP e.stringer was rated highly by tennis.com. Is it that drop weights can be cheaper and more accurate?? Which is a good drop weight for a great price? Gamma x2??

Find the best stringer that you can afford. The type really does not matter much. Any of the three will give you years of good stringjobs and all are accurate. There are some differences between 'constant pull' and 'non-constant pull'. If you are not stringing for a pro or stringing hundreds of racquets a week it is meaningless trivia to get confused about.
