No brainer. Roger in straights. Thanks for posting the head to head scores. Youzhny has played Rogi once each of the last 4 seasons and not won a set in any of them, including the Australian Open recently. His last set was 4 years ago in 2003 before Roger won his first slam title at Wimbledon.

Sure, but i think this is completely different Youzhny we are talking about this year. He was 0-6 against Lubi, but thrashed him in Rotterdam nevertheless.

Rooting for Misha - time to make some holes in the swiss cheese. :-D

Perhaps true but remember their last match at the 2007 Australian Open was "this year" too. Youzhny was playing so well that day some people say he would have beaten anybody else but vs Feddy he still lost. Anyway we will see. Hopefully it is a good match.

I am very pleased by Youzhny's progress in this tournament and I belive a top 10 place in likely for the Russian soon. However this is too big an ask. Federer will likely win in straight sets, he is a league above the rest right now. Either way the Russian can take a lot of confidence from his victory at Rotterdam, and at least a final here.

my happiness of youzhny's run will be over he wont beat federer but i really want him 2 put up a massive fight and **** federer off.

COME ON MISHA!

I really like youzhney,
I loved how he got do inspired in his match against nadal.

I don't think that he will beat federer though; it may be a close match but federer will come out with the win

I am surprised at noeledmonds painting Youzhny's winning this match as a near impossability. With Fed's weak backhand, weak return of serve, weak serve, weak net game, and weak mental game Youzhny should be all set for a comfotable win. Just avoid the forehand and the rest of Fed's weak game cant hurt you. Or maybe he has come to his senses in only a week. :)

Fed hasnt even been his best throughout this tournament.Has maded alot of backhand and forehand errors yet he is still winning the matches.I hope he saves his best for last at least.

i hate this, we have a really boring match coming up now. Why couldn't youzny just let rafa win so we could have a really fun match?

I agree Fedface but I noticed Youz at the US open and he would be the one to watch. He is VERY confident and may not be too nervous today against Fed - which I think Haas was yesterday and this is half the battle - still so many wanted a Nadal/Fed match- perhaps we should have got it over with at the beginning!!!

Youzhny's been playing well. Kinda like Roddick or Gonzo at AO, and Haas the past 2 weeks. So, in summary, he's gonna get smoked. But good luck to him and hopefully Roger will slip on a banana skin.

The good news is that I got a picture. I don't think fed is off at all. That backhand is his weakness and Youz. is outhitting him. I have doubts that he will continue to play this consistently while still going for his shots.

Don't worry no matter how bad Federer is playing his opponent will make sure to hit at least twice as many unforced errors just to make sure Federer wins. Everybody on the ATP tour is too gay and nervous when playing against Federer.

Ok, we will send you to fight Federer. Since you will not be too "gay" or nervous when you play against Federer. :D :D :D

What the h e l l do you mean by too gay?

By that I mean no body has any balls to stay focused during the entire length of the match and push Federer to the limit. But I have yet to see if Andy Murray cad do that.

Youzhny usually plays well against Fed, he just gets outplayed on a close match.. not this time i think. There is going to be a straight set surprise.

So, what you are saying is that if you are gay you don't have the, "balls to stay focused during the entire length of the match"? Since when are gay people unable to focus or control nervousness?

Thought Federer gonna wrap the first set, but Youzhny broke Federer instead. Good fight from Youzhny. Shows that he will not easily give up.

This is a great match so far.
I kinda like Youzny's attitude. He seems like a cool guy, and celebrates his winners in a great way, not the "in your face" way like som other player.
