he reached couple finals and stopped by federer 3 times in a row... in fact 4 times... he was stopped by federer just now, again.

if he was not to play same tournament as federer does, he's probably has 2 or more titles by now.... and could probably reach quarter or semi in pacificlife...

Roger Federer improved to 23-1 on the season and moved one step closer to defending his Pacific Life Open title when he defeated Ivan Ljubicic 7-6(3), 7-6(4) on Wednesday night. In a tense battle Ljubicic saved the only break point in the match but ultimately was unable to stave off his fourth loss to Federer of the season.

That was from pacificlifeopen.com. Very depressing for Ljubicic. This plot reminds me of Sampras and Ivanisevic, Sampras being played by Federer and Goran being played by Ivan.

Federer may not win as convincingly now against his rivals, but he still wins. He's learning how to win the close ones. He's just as dangerous and lethal as he was last year. This is a budding rivalry though. Ivan threatens Roger, for sure.

Oh, by the way, this is one hell of a title for the spoiler. Why even write spoiler?

ahahaha

i guess most readers would click on this thread thinking that ljubicic got injured or something? *shrugs shoulders*

i really wish they would have showed this match on tv, they don't need to show more replays of tilt.

it's because i was saying federer defeated ljubicic 4 times this year, which the last time came tonite...........

Sorry don't get it. What's there to feel sorry for? Whether he loses to the same guy 10 times in a season or once, if you don't win you don't win - whatever stage of the tournament you're at. I don't think Hewitt's pain has ended in 2004 either. He came up short against Safin in the AO, again proving he doesn't have the weapons to beat the top guys when they're on. Hewitt and Ljubicic are unlucky in that Federer hasn't had an off day against them of late - but then you'd have to say that about virtually the entire ATP ... which would start to get a bit silly.

Ljubicic and Hewitt played crappy, immature opponents who did not take matches seriously. Federer was lucky with numerous easy draws in Dubai, Rotterdam, Wimbledon, US Open and '03 Australian Open (immature, injured, exhausted opponent, a walkover).

Poor Ivan is experiencing Hewitt's worst nightmares last year.

Yes, but the difference is Lubby took Federer to several close matches which could have easily gone either way. In Hewitt's case, Fed just blew him off the court (See USO/TMC Final)

1 vs 13 in the round of 16, they basically made the two hottest players play. if they did the draws the proper way he would have been in the safin section thus making it to the semis. i guess roddick and agassi got lucky that lube wasnt in their side of the draw *sarcasm*

Doesn't a thread with the title "Don't you feel bad about Ljubicic" kinda defeat the purpose of being a "spoiler". Not that I could watch the match if I wanted, but do everyone else a favor and don't even FRIGGIN' BOTHER to post "spoiler" if you're actually gonna spoil it for some people! Just do it-post the scores in the subject line.
