Dunlop Aerogel 200 Club.

actually i have no problem generating spinn with full poly on the 18x20 string pattern

i use full 17g poly

yea...im debating on picking up one of these rackets....my main concern is the 18x20 pattern as ive always used 16x19

also wondering if im better off getting the mfil 200 because of price +string pattern...but i dont like the cosmetics as much and its a littlw stiffer and bigger headsize.....

im also wondering about the 18x20...will i like it or not?i have a loopy forehand and nice kickserve

Yes you can obtain a ton of topspin from this racquet. But it all comes down to your technique. I had a hit with Greg Rusedski last year (more like he served at me and I ran out of the way) and he was using the AG200 and believe me his kick serve was plenty fine.

Plus you can get the Dunlop AG200 in a 16x19 configuration if you prefer. :)

I was very pleasantly surprised by the racquet head speed I was able to generate with this frame. Great control (reminiscent of my old Prestiges) with nice pop and spin. The feel of this racquet is unique and reminds me of the old MW 200g. This is an excellent stick and I might be tempted............

This is no Muscle weave. It tends to twist in the throat against heavy balls, The materials are much cheaper from the thin plastic butt caps to the thin easily scratched paint. I like the frame, but it does not come anywhere close to the quality materials you would find on a 200GMW, IMO one of the top 5 players frames made in the last 10 years.

Iv found the perfect string combo for this raquet. Full luxilon original 1.30 at 56. I might go a bit tighter next time. But this set up has everything spin , comfort ( feels softer than cb @58) power and so much control.

Come on , Lets see yours!!

I just picked up a pair of AG200's for days when my customized Prestiges are too much to swing. The control is fantastic on these. They're a little bit lower powered than my Prestiges, but they hit a great ball.

I don't understand people claiming that the AG200 is sluggish at all - for me, it's about as quick as I'd like a frame to be. Doubles is a dream with this stick - lots of short angles to be had, and reflex volleys are great.

Since this is the AG200 thread let me ask my question here. I just received a damaged AG200 - butt cap problem. But it is strung 18 x 20 but under throat it is stamped - pattern: 16 x 19 . How is this possible it also feels lighter than the traditional AG200s I've seen.

They make a 16 x 19 model that is a bit lighter than the other. They're similar to the MF200 and the MF200 16x19 but I both AG200s come from the same molds.

I'd start by popping it on a scale, right after you weigh one of yours that feels "right." If the weight matches the specs for the 16x19, you may have gotten a one-off or custom drill. Get it off the boards?

Well, I had the 18x20 version out on demo and was able to compare it to my Revelation 200g, Muscleweave 200g and a M-fil 200. I would have to say that it plays very similar to the Muscleweave. It is a very comfortable racquet to play with. There is plenty of feel and solidity but is slightly more head light than the Muscleweave. Definitely a player's racquet where you must take full swings at the ball to get the most out of it.

Having said that, my Revelation 200g is still my favourite. It is stiffer and more responsive for me. I can handle hard and heavy shots better with the Rev than the other 2. It still retains good feel for the ball on volleys and more delicate shots.

The M-fil 200 felt the most different with a more heavy head balance. It was more powerful due to this but felt more mute than the others. Very good plowthrough and stability but just less agile.

My 2 cents! Cheers!:)

count me in! i'm still new to the ag 200 but i dunno wat strings to use? for more power and spin and comfort? best for the power and spin? No natural gut>< can't afford

Hi, I've also recently bought an AG200.
I haven't managed to hit with it properly yet but I've played a few volleys in my garden
First impressions are great! I'm loving the feel of the 18x20 and the control in very noticeable. I can't wait to hit with it properly.

I can get rid of images if they take up too much space?

I own this racquet but it's not what i normally use. I do like to hit with it, I liked it stock at first, but then i found that I can't get much power from it. I added about 8 grams of led tape to the 9 and 3 on the racquet. I feel that it feels a lot more solid on the volleys and the serves feel better as well. I have mixed reviews on the ground strokes, the added weight I don't have as much racquet head speed but I like how it feels like the ball pancakes on my racquets when i hit it.

I have been playing with these raquets for about a month now so i thought i might tell you how i find they play best.
-I find it preforms best with some lead at 3 and 9 (i have 4 maby more soon)
-My best string combo so far is bbo @ 56 (57 next time) and going to try alu also and then going to settle with one. I find the raquets preform best with full poly. I also really liked the raquet with full multi (60+) but durability was a problem.

Sorry if this is off-topic slightly, but I use BBA 1.12 in my AG100.

I have to say it works great: crisp, gobs of spin, amazing durabilty, no movement, nice touch on volleys, wonderful serves.

count me in ...ag200 18x20 strung with nrg2 16 @55
had my first hit with it today but im not taking too much stock in today because it was drizzling the whole time and the balls were not new......i was hitting long alot and shanking backhands lol also racket didnt feel very poppy felt kinda mushy...i blame that probably on the nrg2 + the rain and wet balls ...gonna play again tomorrow if its nice ill use new balls and see what happens

I am officially in now, got mine about week ago! Good suggestion on string selection, was going to go with full synthetic gut but instead I'll put Big hitter Blue 17. Anyone try BHB 17 with this stick? Also I am finding it kinda of hefty a little too hefty compared to my AG300 anything I can do to solve this besides pumping iron!

it is heavy aint it?i played it again today ....weather was so freakin humid i was wore out by the third game...still not a good day to judge it but i was still hitting the ball all over the place except for serves ...they seem improved

Two different racquets. 200 is more even balnced, heavier 20 mm beam. Great versatile frame. I like it for all court tennis. AG100-Thinner beam, plays much lighter, open string pattern, produces more variety of shot, but IMO a much lighter ball and the shots don't go through the court like an AG 200. I played both frames in stock form and I know most guys lead up the 100, but I always do my comparisons on stock racquets. I did a whole in-depth comparison of both frames in June on this board if you would like to read more.

AG200 is a Beast. I played 2 sets of singles today didn't think I could do that yet and I did well only lost my serve 3 times won both sets 6-2, 6-2. I played very well with it first time playing more than a set of singles with this stick. Excellent spin potential if you hit the ball correctly, a lot mote topspin and control than my LM radical and nBlades. Great serve and volley stick. Good heft and stability, really can't complain, my drop shots are much better with this stick, they actually drop, with the AG300 they were like mini-lobs they popped up. Just takes extra preparation on take back that is all after a few weeks you should be able to get used to weight.

im changing rackets. I will take myself away from the 200 club, although it is a great racket. I have several forsale if anyone is interested. 4 3/8 thanh0724[at]hotmail[dot]com

Does anyone have any experience with the ag200 and Pro Supex Premier Ace and Big Ace? If not what are your current set-ups?

My dad just won one of these in a veterans tournament, but he says its too heavy for him. Looks like i got an early christmas present!

woah lucky you!
Yea I've had a few people pick up my 200 and say "oo, heavy racquet?!" is it that heavy??

Is 17 gauge best for the 200? Anyone can recommend a soft string something that won't feel boardy at high tension for AG200. Currently using full Big hitter blue 17 at 60# and on the other one synthetic gut 17 at 68# for some reason I suspect high tension loss after about a week on the synthetic gut one the other one the poly holds tension well.

Just orded my third ag200! Im getting it strung with weiss cannon silverstring at 58. Anyone tried ss in the ag200?

If you want soft, try Technifibre X-One Biphase or Gamma Asterisk @ 17g. I've experimented with different tensions with the 200 and IMO, if you're looking for good topspin/slice/ball bite, unless your technique is so supreme that you can play 18x20s @ high tension, I'd suggest stringing this one below 50 lbs at a tension that allows you to pocket the ball without the trampoline effect. I just haven't found anything that works for me above 49lbs in the mains with this one.

I recently purchased a couple of Head MG Prestiges (both in mid and midplus) and the Prestige's 18x20 seems to be more spin friendly than that of the Dunlops. Sorta like the Wilson 18x20s (the new K6.1s and the Blades -but then again, everyone knows the Blades were Wilson's attempt @ Prestiges: just a tad short there Wilson). :)

One more thing: I've had my AG200 for almost two years and I must say, the AG100 is far and away a better bat than the AG200. Though the head size is smaller, the sweet spot is ridiculously larger and honestly, I frame more balls with the 200 than with the 100.

AG100 = Better serves, better returns and better spin.
AG200 = Better accuracy, a tad more "bottom out" effect on the slice.

Arm Pain: You really need lead on both these to absorb some of the frame shock with the AG line. That has been my biggest gripe with the AGs.

Can I join? I have a AG 200 and it is currently at the stringers getting some redcode into it...Best racket I've ever had.

It is weird I find that it feels better with Big hitter blue 17 at 60# than synthetic gut at 68#. Also it has much more control with the Big hitter blue at 60#.

I just added 10 grams to mine I'll see how it plays. I am trying to make it more solid at net and ground strokes. 5g at 3 and 9 and 5 grams under grip.

I used the 200GMW for years without issue. I used this frame for 4 months and developed bad tennis elbow. At 47 , I never had this happen before. The 4 1/2" grip ran small IMO and the frame felt like it tended to twist against heavy hitters. I reluctantly put it down and went to a yonex TI 80 with a 4 5/8" and the tennis elbow was gone in 3 weeks. I took an AG out for hit the other night and fell in love with it again. Next morning, my elbow was throbbing. Bummer, cause I loved the way this frame performed. The TI 80 has been fine, I have been using the yonex without issue for over 2 months now.

Basil, weren't you a charter member of the Redondo club? I'm surprised a TE sufferer like you doesn't go running back to ProKennex. That's how I survived my elbow ailments.

I am not a TE "Sufferer". The aerogel 200 inflamed my elbow. It is the only racquet I have ever used that has created this situation. I stopped using the Redondo because I found it too low powered and the flex was too high for my game. It was a godsend when my shoulder became arthritic, but I find the Yonex 002T and the TI80 just as comfrotable with more pop and the same control. Believe me when I say I liked the performance of the AG 200, it just created a unique situation for me. I loved my redondo's, but I love my Yonexes just as much if not more, and frankly I have gotten tired of jumping to different frames every 6 months. I want to stick with one mold, one brand and just play without thinking about what I have in my hand.

That is exactly why I sold the AG200 that I got from you. It did not take long before my E started to hurt, its still does after more than a month of not playing with it. I never had TE until I hit with this racquet. To me, AG200 = TE period.

ill join! i got 3 of these bad boys for 55$ new! my sponsorship! great racquet my coach wants to switch (and hes in love with his racquet). great racquet feels like it will be good with poly/syn gut.

Also, feeling very little amount of pain in my elbow from the AG200 after the demo, is that normal ? My elbow will adjust to the new racquet ?

yeah take it slow at first there is a big weight difference between nBlade and AG200 I would know I have both. Also you might need to string a little lower on the AG200 compared to what you stung at on the blade. It is normal to feel sore and have pain for a few days until your arm gets used to it but if it continues past a week and is getting worse then stop using it as you might develop tennis elbow and shoulder problems.
