Happy New Year and welcome to the first Dunlop Tennis newsletter!

Dunlop is starting the new decade in style- available today are two new player frames: the Aerogel 4D 1Hundred and the Aerogel 4D 2Hundred Tour. Read about them below. Also, John McEnroe just re-signed, find out more about his role with Dunlop in this newsletter. If you're looking for the freshest and most talented faces in tennis, check out the piece on the Dunlop Orange Bowl, which was held just prior to the holidays in Florida. And look to the left-hand column for your chance to win one of those new Aerogel 4D 2Hundred Tour racquets- it's easy!

Sneak Peek: Aerogel 4D 1Hundred

Dunlop is introducing two new racquets this holiday season and you're seeing them here before anywhere else. First is the Aerogel 4D 1Hundred.

The Aerogel 4D 1Hundred is ideal for players who demand pinpoint precision from their frame, the 4D 1Hundred delivers a perfect combination of control, maneuverability, and feel. The 16x19 stringbed rewards players with added spin and power. See images of the racquet on Dunlop's Facebook page.

I just got the Dunlop e-mail too. I don't remember subscribing

I believe the best PJ of all the Aerogels is the AG4D200 16 x19--just that extra white plus a little blue and black: awesome!

Does this stick exist? Would it be for sale in the U.S.? Sounds like a contender for the Prestige, but with the pro-style open string pattern.

As far as I know, this stick does NOT exist. Once I saw the specs on the AG4D200 Tour, I started dreaming about the ideal AG4D100.

I was posting this dream.

(Dunlop, are you out there? Hello? This would be the ultimate stick. No lead-tape needed. . . make a leather grip as standard equipment.)

Agreed. It's a wonderful dream. My honeymoon period with the AG100 ended quickly, but your proposed specs might have kept that relationship alive.

Went to the local tennis shop this weekend and I saw the Dunlop Aerogel 100 4D.....

Looks nice. The paintjob is nice in person. Although I'm on the fence on the "clear" parts where you can see the braiding underneath. I do like the black, gold, and white color scheme.

I'm not in the market for another frame, but if I was I'd consider checking that one out.

They're kinda spread over the look of the frame. Some parts are painted black, some parts are clear to that show the braided graphite under the paint.

Here's a pic from TW's page. Just above the handle shows it well. See the braiding as it goes up the throat and how the gold graphite overlaps it......

I guess from a visual standpoint, the graphite fibers catch the light differently and it seems a bit uneven looking. But it's neat to see the frame material.

Dunlop's been doing that for a while.....like at 3 and 9 on the HM200g, for example.

Purely a personal preference thing.

^^^I can't quite see it or see it very clearly in the pic.

I guess i will go check out a live racquet in my hands at the local club.

Look at the bands of gold. Between the two bands you can see the braiding. I personally love that!

This bat really is really an eye catcher for many reasons besides the beautiful cosmetic.

Dunlop built a great "old school" player frame. They even got it right on their inline spec. This bat is tuned for performance off the shelf.

cheers,
