So, lately i've felt that my FXP rad tour might be too demanding. I love the feel, but I feel like I get less than what I put into it. I feel this way especially on the serve.

Lately, i've been eying both the AG100 and AG300 16x18. Both look pretty BA, and I like the look of the weight. I want something moderately hefty. I though a mid to high 11 oz racquet would be the right place to look. The AG100 also has a low swingweight.

Plus, I heard the AG100 serves big. Do Dunlop grips run big/small at all?

My game style: Horrible! At least today was. I don't have a set style now, but the goal is serve and volley/all court. If I don't come in off the serve, I plan to come in off a deep topspin or slice stroke (typically BH slice, or forehand topspin). I also play doubles a bunch too.

thanks!

When I tried out Ag300 vs Ag100 I went with the Ag100 I liked it a lot better and the grip i think runs a tiny bit smaller but thats just me,

I play at 4.0 now
Though typically a flat hitter it generates lots of spin when i want it to.

Good swings light and maneurverable for those volleys and yes.... the serves are huge.

I'm probably a 3.5, but most people said the head size is not much of a difference at all. I need to work on hand eye to stop shanking.

Also I hit a two handed backhand, but slice frequently.

by no means do i have a solid two handed backhand ( im a one hander) but the head size isnt that noticeable. The 90 headsize shouldnt stop you from getting one just because of a 2hb

Not just because of the 2hbh does the 90 worry me, just the fact that it's a 90. But almost everyone has said it's a non issue. It seems like an "easier" mid to use.

Is the handle long enough for two hands?

I can't comment on the FXP, but the 100 and 16x18 are both great sticks. I've played both for some time now.

Their weighted and balanced similarly, but the 100 feels a tad heavier. The 100 offers more control. The 16x18, more spin.

Try 'em both and see which appeals to you.

The 16x18 is not up for demo, but the AG100 will probably be a good measure.

Trust me you have nothing to worry about.
Re headsize:Ive given mine to guys who play with only OS sticks and they
have no prob. I actually came from a OS and now you cant get
me to go back even if you pay me.
Re 2HBH : Since Ive gotten this stick I actually look forward to hitting a
backhand (2H) and mine has actually improved. B4 I used to just
slice everything.

Just take the plunge but keep in mind that you have to provide some of the juice.

is the sweetspot for the ag100 higher in the hoop? Based on my hits it does feel a weeee bit
higher.

tried it

i tried all these rackets and my experience was that the sweet spot was a bit higher on the loop, but i was not able to get a good feel out of the dunlops compared to the head racket...maybe the demo program had wrong tensions

you should try the 4D version when looking for feel. You can really feel the difference with the 4D and the non 4D. ;)

The handle of the AG100 is fairly long, approx. 7-7/8". Should work for a 2hbh.

Re its 90-inch head size, I've found it to have one of the biggest sweet zones among the midsize racquets.

Having said that the smaller head does require a tad more concentration than a 95 or 107. When I transition from a POG OS, for instance, to the AG100, I find I have to focus a bit more on watching the ball as I get ready to swing forward.

The reward for that extra concentration is more precision, accuracy and feel.

Why not demo it? TW's demo program is excellent.

Many of us AG100 users think that its tension range should have been specified as 50-60, instead of 55-65. When I demoed it from TW, I found the tension way too high (it was probably strung at 62, per TW's usual practice). I string mine at 55, and many prefer the low to mid 50s. (Although Rabbit, for instance, likes his at 60 using nat gut.)

I will demo it soon hopefully!

thanks ir0-ed and keifers

thanks ir0-ed and keifers for the recommendations...i am going to try to demo the ag100 again with lower tension, hopefully 55lbs or less.

I have 4 AG100s: all strung 51-57.

Yes, the range should be changed to 50-60, unless you're using something super-soft. I think Rabbit uses nat gut in his at 60 lbs.

It would appear all Dunlops, or at least the ones I've demoed, are 5 pounds higher than most other frames. The recommended tension range for Dunlop is 55-65.

Tension is just a number any way.

i am thinking about trying Gosen Comfort 17 on AG100.
VERY soft strings.probably 56-58 range

any comments?

i like them on my n95, but hated them on my PST.
