Dunlop: M-Fil vs. Aerogel

I'm considering getting a Dunlop and I've been looking into the mfil line (either the 200 or 300) for a while mainly because of the discounted price. But I'm willing to pay more for the Aeroline version of either the 200 or 300 if they play better. I havent played with any dunlops yet and is unable to demo.
Is teh M-Fil and Aerogel series really much of a difference? (Especially the 200 and 200 version)

Thanks

I'm willing to bet that there isn't a huge difference in play between, say, an M-Fil 300 and an AG 300. After I cracked all my 300g's and they were discontinued, I demoed the M-Fil 300 and despite having to get over the initial difference of feel, I realized that the two play pretty much the same. Still wish I had my 300g's though, they were the best!

They do play quite different imo especially the 200. Its just whether you like those differences or not.....the only way to find out is to demo them all. If you are unable to demo i would go with the Mfil model of the 200 which I prefer over the aerogel.....not sure about the 300 as I have only played with the Mfil.

The Aerogel 300's a great stick. Great control, feel, spin, did I mention control? Serving and volleying are great, actually they're very very great.IMO.
Can't compare to Mfil, never tried them, but they're probably somewhat similar, love the ags though.

AG 300 and M-Fil 300 are very similar in many ways...both have a very solid feel that is surprising for their light weight, both work well as an all-court racquet, volley well, provide great control, easy access to spin (I get more from the MF3), and the MF3 serves really well, AG just a shade behind in terms of control/placement.

The AG3 has more of the following: Power (the difference seems to really increase as you drop tension in the AG3); "thumpy" feel (AG3 has an even more thumpy/solid feel than the MF3, but is also has a bit more muted feel); solid volleys (AG3 a bit better here than the MF3). The AG3 still has very good control even w/the additional power. The only down-side I've found w/the AG3 is that it doesn't quite maneuver the way you'd expect it to based on specs...feels less maneuverable than the M-Fil, rather than more, which is strange given the AG3 is spec'd more head light.

Either would be a good choice, but I would certainly demo if at all possible before buying. The MF3 is going to ask you to generate more of the power, it's low to moderate power but more on the low side, the AG3 is low to moderate, more on the moderate side.

I haven't hit the AG200 or MF200 (except the MF200 2006, which doesn't appear to be available any more).

well i demoed both (300s) i liked the mfil much more.

the ag seemed to have less "feel" to me. it was definitly more powerful. it felt like it had a bigger head than the mfil.

i liked the mfil much more. it just seemed to click with me, while the AG didnt work at all.

i would certainly say that the AG is NOT a major improvement, more of a side step (or for me, backwards).

Totally concur with Redflea's observations. Just to add on, the AG3 seems to have a slightly heavier swing weight and can get quite tiring on the arm over long rallies as compared to the MF3.
