Very similar to a 200G, but with a bit more power and a bit less feel. Same launch angle and amazing precision. 400i has a higher launch angle and a bit less control than either, and a stiffer feel with the XAS fibres (whatever they are). It feels crisp for an IMF frame. There could be a little IMF problem with the 300i in that in order to optimise control you probably need to be near the maximum recommended tension of 55lbs. I am currently demoing a few polys in mine, starting with Luxilon Element Forest Green, which looks great and so far performs quite nicely at 52lbs, but I may try the next poly at 54lbs, which sounds high but there are no comfort problems generally with IMF sticks. The other benefit of the 300i is they all seem to come with full-length vinyl covers that last forever in great condition (at least 35 years anyway).

After another 1hr hit today, I can highly recommend a MAX 300i with Element Forest Green @ 52lbs. Very comfortable, but still a touch of crispness and stability from the string-bed. Serious ball-pocketing and good spin for such a small headed racket. Serving was great with precision and pace. I actually think this poly is better than the typical syngut in most of my 300is. Specs were 370g strung with OG, 32cm (7pt HL) balance.

The poly experiment with the MAX 300i continued with 4g @ 52lbs. I decided to try each at the same tension to allow fair comparison. At first it was a bit boardy, and the sweetzone seemed to have shrunk, but after a week it has loosened up and has a good control/power combination. I still prefer the softer feel of the Element though. My final comparator will be Alu-Power Vibe also at 52lbs. I guess the key test is whether these last 35-years like a decent syngut!

Another 300i game with 4G at 52lbs today. The 4G is now a week old and with 4hrs play it's changed from boardy to plush and powerful. Is this usual for 4G? The 300i is quite whippy, but still solid and great control. And the 4G definitely adds spin. Got some topspin BHs to really jump off the hard-court, which I haven't seen with a 300i before. Serving practice with 30 balls, I put 10 through the fence with the 300i. Overall, I'd say the 300i does work quite well with polys, and still provides a 45RA feel but with more like 65RA power.
