Anyone tried Dunlop Max Comfort 17?

Dunlop Max Comfort 17 Nylon 1.23 199
Dunlop's highly responsive multifilament string. More playable and spin friendly than Max Comfort 16 gauge while slightly less durable.
Gauge: 17 (1.23 mm)
Composition:Center core composed of DuPont N66 multifilaments surrounded by a Mono Nylon Copolymer and a Duracoat/Silicone coating

I like the specs (crisp and thinner gauge) on this multi, and am wondering how it plays. Thanks.

Don't do it. Plays very poorly.

Soft, no feel, no spin, no power. Comfy? Probably. But nothing else.

I thought the same as you did, so I tried a set and immediately regretted it. I found it difficult, if not impossible, to FEEL the ball. Spin was almost nonexistent and the power level was very low for a multi. Heck, it was low for a POLY.

I'd avoid it if I were you.

A couple of my M-Fils are demo versions and had the Dunlop Max Comfort strung in the frame although it was the 16 guage not the 17. My game was fine and I didn't notice the string at all which I think is the best compliment you can really give a string. I've had to put in a full bed of PSGD before and I couldn't feel any difference between the two save that the PSGD lasts longer in the frame. The Max Comfort only lasted me two weeks and I have flat strokes so that is a really short time for me.

Max Comfort was the string my son used prior to switching to all poly. It was a totally unremarkable multi, not being very elastic, firm, comfortable, or harsh, with only one totally remarkable characteristic in that it moved all over the place. Even the crosses would move, and it was impossible to hit two balls in a row and not find the strings so out of position that you'd have a significant gap somewhere.

Sounds like a consensus that it's not even worth trying. Thanks for letting me know. (I was pretty close to ordering it; I might have wasted $7 on a set.)

Glad to know it's hardly worth even that

Thanks guys.
