Dunlop Srixon Revo CX 2.0 (and Tour version)......the discussion......

I have not had the pleasure of playing with these sticks yet.
i am only going to focus on these two, as they look like the only two that matter. to be blunt..
I have considered Dunlop dead to me for the last ten years.. But there is something about this thin beam players frame that is making me want to try them out. In all honesty i probably wont even try the Tour version simply because i dont do well with closed patterns.
So please my TT brothers chime in with your thoughts and experiences. Something tells me that this is the best offering Dunlop has ever had. Lets find out.

The specs of the non tour version are perfect for customizing.
11.3 oz strung. and 6 pts headlight.. 21mm beam. 68 stiffness.
this is a must demo for me. just bring it up to 11.7oz and keep the balance at 6hl. lets roll.

Back then..the mw 200 was amazing..but by today's standards if rackets..it would fall short...not enough power...for today's game...
But the hm 300..could compete...with modern offers..

I have my eyes on this, but at 95" 18x20 you probably need to be a solid 4.5 to use it effectively. What makes it attractive to me is the 61RA flex. All the other tech is probably marketing mumbo jumbo.

Just depends on your fitness level and your game. You can also string it lower for more power.

Personally I always played best with these types of frames as I can generate full racket head speed and stay consistent and hit with good spin. Whatever helps me hit consistently has always been best for my results, even if it means put away shots don't have quite as much juice.

I'm an average usta 4.5 with a big forehand, and very good fitness and speed. Not as good as many on here I'm sure.

I'm hoping it's at least as solid as the MW 200g was. I remember when I first hit with that racquet, it was for me, head and shoulders above anything else I had tried since the original. I still have a 200g and hit with it on occasion, but even as stubborn as I am I realize that I need something a little stiffer and with a larger head. I'm not getting any younger and don't play near as much as I used to. I am excited about it, however am also keeping my expectations in check. I just want it to be something I am comfortable with, doesn't aggravate my many aches and pains, and doesn't go out of production in 6 months. Maybe that's not asking too much. Should know for sure in the next couple of weeks.

Revo CX 2.0 already ordered and waiting for delivery after TW gets their stock. I'll certainly be adding weight so SW is at least 10pts more and some in the handle to offset

There's no substitute for mass, simple as that. But a thin flat beamed racquet is always welcomed in my book.

Anderson uses / endorses the CX 2.0 Tour, 18x20. From everything I've read, that's the same one James Blake is using / endorsing. Who knows if it's the same as the retail version, has been modified, etc.

Kevin definitely uses the Revo CX 2.0 Tour 18x20 or a paint job of one. You can see the string pattern is 18x20 and that he even has lead tape applied unevenly.

I’m not sure what you mean. Kevin endorses the 95 18x20 tour not the 98 so I assume he plays with the 95 tour. I was just saying the racquet i picked to buy and try out was the 98

I own two CX2.0+ Srixon's bought from Japan a year ago. The quality of the frame, paint etc. is excellent. This racquet is the single best serving stick I have hit with - ever. Despite a light weight strung with dampener of 11.4 oz., it crushes and spins the ball like a 12 0z + racquet. It is an all around superb racquet. The sweet spot feels quite large for a 98 inch frame. I did find that I had to string a full poly bed below 47 lbs. or I had wrist pain. I went with a hybrid of gut and MSV 17 - 48 crosses and 46 mains, and no more pain. In my experience, this is the best hitting "new" racquet engineering since the Babolat "woofer. "

wow.. this is great news. thats the stick i want to demo. looks sick.
question.. im always going between a 3/8 and 1/2 on a babolat. where does the size of the grip fit in with Babolats.

This is new to me. I didn't realize there was a tour with a 16x19 pattern. I went to the srixon website and could not find the tour in an16x19 pattern. Can u post a pic of it for us please ?

You are correct. That's interesting as I would be surprised if he actually used a 16 x 19 pattern and a stiffness that high. But, you never can tell.

This model I did not expect to see for a couple weeks, but they brought one out and asked if I was interested (yes!). So I have the Revo CX2.0 here and will be hitting with it a bit tomorrow and Sunday. Weight distribution and balance seems very nice on it. Paint job is just "ok" in my opinion.

The 16x19 was actually there before the 18x20. Anderson was endorsing that while playing an 18x20 pattern, so I suppose the latter was heavily requested by the customers or something. In fact, in the Srixon site, you can see the 16x19 is simply called "Srixon Revo CX 2.0 Tour", without the string pattern being specified.

They probably thought the 2.0 and 2.0 Tour were similar enough for potential Tour customers to get the 2.0, taking the 18x20 instead because it's more different. Basically they took one for "modern players" and one for "old-school players", besides the other frames which all look like tweeners, if I recall correctly. After all, most young/modern players believe it's impossible to play decently or give spin with a racquet that's smaller than 97 in headsize and thinner than 21.5mm (regardless of string pattern) and most old-schoolers/traditionalists seem to believe all their balls will sail over the backfence if hit with a 16x19 pattern (yet 16x20 is somewhat ok, it seems).

I honestly have no idea. I've seen the photos, but I'm not an expert pro frame spotter like many in this board, so I can't really tell.

On one hand, since Srixon seems to have invested much in him, I don't see why his real mould should be MUCH different from the retail, on the other hand he did endorse a 16x19 while playing 18x20, so it could even be unavailable. What racquet was he playing with under HEAD? He endorsed the Prestige line, so it could be a PT57A, in which case it's realistic to think his current frame is the CX 2.0 Tour mould or close, as they're fairly similar.
