Dunlop Srixon Revo CX 2.0 Tour 18x20 vs. Dunlop Srixon CX 200 Tour 18x20

Hi! I am currently using the Srixon Revo CX 2.0 Tour 18x20. I think its one of the best racquets offered by Dunlop. I liked how I rip the ball in groundstrokes, i love the feel/touch on volleys and the consistency on serve. I became more aggressive on court. Recently, they launched a newer CX Tour model called CX 200 Tour.

I would say that apart from the colorway, which is awesome (I think), there are very slight changes in the newer model: Strung Weight: 11.7oz; Swingweight: 318; Stiffness: 63; and Beam Width: 20.5mm / 20.5mm / 20.5mm. Compared to the previous model, the newer CX Tour is a bit heavier, has a better swingweight, it is a bit stiffer and the beam width is a bit wider.

I am slightly considering getting the newer model, Srixon CX 200 Tour 18x20. Have you played with both racquets? What are your thoughts about the new CX Tour?

I have played with both extensively, the new one definitely plays a bit more crisp and has a bit more free power. Comfort was still great. I preferred the newer model because of that slight increase in pop, which is something that my game needs.

I actually bought the cx2.0 tour from fed1 here, amazing racket, so good that recently I ended up buying the new cx200 tour as well from another member here. Both play very similar, i just felt that the CX2.0 tour beam was slightly thinner(less bulky)and cuts the air more faster by a SLIM margin, I tend to get a few more aces with it so far(maybe the glossy paint is another factor). The CX200 tour has slightly more graphite in the hoop area not exactly sure where but I like it. I intend to keep both versions for the long run. I have modified both of my rackets with silicone in handle and weights at 3 & 9 o'clock, both rackets matched exactly 355grams including overgrip and strings. The CX200 tour I only needed 1 gram on 9&3 o'clock while the CX2.0 I had about 2 grams on same position. One of my racket is grip size 4 3/8 while other is 4 1/2 so I hope that was not a factor on my perceived feel.

This is my main racket now, although i still use my prostaff 90, dunlop biomimetic 100 and donnay x dual 94 platinum from time to time.

Based on my experience, get the new one if you really really want to, it looks sexy but you don't have to lol

The TW specs show that CX200 is stiffer from CX 2.0 Tour. Is it something that you can feel easily?
 
I used for almost two years Tecnifibre 315 Ltd. – the ones with 61RA (18x20) and 59RA (16x19) stiffness (along Graphene Prestige S/Pro). I assumed that CX 2.0 Tour would be not far away from it feelwise – hence I resigned from even trying it out (it was also not the coolest PJ to be fair). But at least CX200 was much closer in feel to Wilson Ultra Tour that Tec315 Ltd.

The funny thing is that someone destroyed my last CX 2.0 Tour in Warsaw tennis store before I managed to collect it. Today I've played again with CX200 Tour and I really like it a lot. The feel of Head Prestige Line (and Wilson Ultra Tour), the power of older Radicals. And low swing-weights. That what I needed. Can't wait to get CX 2.0 Tour. Bought another on **** (TWE doesn't offer it anymore).

I haven't tried the Wilson Ultra Tour but heard good feedback about it. When using my CX 2.0 Tour though, I sometimes crave for more power and cant help but think of switching to Pure Drive 2018. But just love the precision, control and feel of the CX 2.0 Tour.

The Ultra Tour is a sweet frame but the string bed can be a little inconsistent and really needs some weight to give it plow and stability. The CX 200 Tour imo plays better in stock form. I am going to demo the CX 200 Tour in the 16x19 pattern to compare which I gather has a slight bump in launch angle, maneuverability and liveliness without losing the sublime characteristics of the 18x20.

The VCore Pro 97 310 from Yonex would be another good option if you are looking for a slight uptick in pop without losing the great feel and control of the CX Tour.

I think CX 200 Tour is much better in stock form as well. In both drill patterns – 16x19 and 18x20. The first one is a little bit more open from usual HEAD Prestige/Radical 16x19, but still you can be very precise. The only thing I didn't like in CX200 was slice.

That is right. However a friend of mine bought VCore Pro 97 – 290g (which is at least the same mold as 310g – only one point stiffer) and put 12-15g of silicon in the handle and 2-3g at 9/3 – just to get some softer feel and low SW. I must admit the racket was really stable and easy to play with. Not sure about longer use – as 66RA it is something I try to avoid after my TE period.
 
Good thread info for a new CX 2.0 Tour user, I was curious about the new version.

Main sticks over last 10 years: Dunlop 4D 200 Tour, then Liquidmetal Radical, then PS 90 and finally Yonex Tour G (310). The 4D 200 tour was 12.8-9 oz, I'd play a tournament and it become too much to swing after a couple matches. LM, I hate the grip shape plus the balance wasn't quite right. PS 90 and tour G, not enough juice.

In short, best racket I've ever used. It's like some crazy hybrid of the LM Rad, 4D 200 Tour and PS 90. It's all the positives and feel of those rackets, none of the negatives.

To me, it seems like they took the 4D 200 series, made some adjustments, and boom, improved an already excellent line.

Glad Srixon/Dunlop is making real rackets again, not DIY rackets that you need to put together...but you can't because they don't give you the tools. :)

Honestly going to sell off all my rackets except for the rare cool ones, my LM and PS90. The rest can go at this point.

I am now using the Wilson Ultra Tour. Just added a leather grip and 2 overgrips. Liking the weight so far. But, in terms of feel, I still love the response from the CX 2.0 Tour.
 
Can anyone compare the new CX200 tour to the 200GMW or 200G aerogel? Is is higher powered than the old 200"s?

I don't know about Aerogel but it's definitely firmer and has more plow than Biomimetic 200 & 200 Plus, though it's not that powerful (in stock form) and it's up to you to generate it. I've played with both CX 200 Tour 16x19 and 18x20 and they are both wonderful with some extra weight in the hoop. Prior to those I used CX 2.0 Tour which I never really came in terms with, though I liked the buttery feeling. CX 200+ is nice as well. Now I'm in a process of switching to Tecnifibre TF40 305 that has a lot of similarities when it comes to feeling and accuracy but carries more power due to its higher swing weight (more head heavy balance) and a bit higher stiffness. I've never served harder and more consistent with any of my rackets.

I would love to get my hands on a 4D Aerogel 200 with a 4,5 handle.
 
I have 2 aerogel 200's 4 5/8 grip on the for sale boards now. They are new old stock with less than 4 hours total play between the two of them. Both strung with VS gut. I always use head tape. they are spotless if interested. I am trying to find something with the accuracy of the 200 series with a bit more easy power. If I played more than once or twice a week, I'd stick with them, but they are little too demanding for me at this stage of my life. Always loved the old dunlops from the 2oo revelation up through the 4D 200 tour. Just dont play enough anymore to use them well.

Give TF40 305 a try! It's "a lot" lighter but it really doesn't feel like it. I've previously used 340-350 g frames (strung + additional weight) but with TF40 I'm totally fine as it is, just an overgip. I'd say it's as accurate but offers way more free plow.
 
Almost one year and a few new frames in my collection later I must admit I really enjoy playing with CX200 Tour (18x20, but I also liked 16x19).
I spent many hours testing it again with H19, H22, Pro Tour 2.0, Ultra Tour, Yonex VCore Pro 97HD, TGK238.1, Dunlop M200, Dunlop Bio200
and new G360+ Prestige MP.

And I must say I really love a mixture of old Dunlop 200 series feel and extra power in CX200 Tour. The precision is still there, but the racket
get extra stiffness during hard hitting – a bit similar thing has Wilson H22 (howerever I can't control it the way I can with CX200 Tour).

I think I will be buying some extra couple at least very soon.

PS. Just found also CX2.0 Tour I bought as well. It is more flexible and unstable as far as I remember. The feel is close to Tecnifibre 315 Ltd.

I just grabbed a 16x19 CX 200 Tour and I am really impressed so far.

I will be playing sets with it hopefully starting tomorrow, but just off of serves and some drills, I found a similar impression as you did. The sweet spot on this frame is much bigger than the old school frames, but this new one still has that awesome thumpy feel to it.

Are you still using yours?

I must admit I stopped using CX200 for TGT293.2 and H22/BladePro. But played with them quite a lot. Still love how they feel and how fast they are.
Most recently I am using Radicals IG/Ti/LM and Tf40 as an easier option (tried Blade v7 – but felt too unstable and lacked some feedback).

I am going to test the new CX200 for sure and have plans to come back to them soon. Also bought a pair of new Aerogel 200 and I simply love them.

Thats awesome. You have a lot of epic frames so i can see why you would switch around.

The ag200 is one of my all time favorites. Very demanding frame, but so so good. By the way, james blake just said he is working with dunlop on a cx 200 tour ltd version. So that could be a rather amazing beast.

I know this is an old post, but I was testing both these racquets, and I think that actually the black and red CX200 tour cuts through the air faster than teh CX 2.0 tour. Among the many factors.. I found that the throat area has a slight different design. All things equal, teh throat of teh CX200 tour has a little bit of a tear drop cut in the bottom, it seems thinner, which seems to create a more aerodynamic feel. I have both customized to match specs, and somehow I feel the 2.0 Tour has a bit of a more solid feel. All in all, both great frames.
