Hello everyone. Does anyone know the specs of the Dunlop XLT Composite racquet? It's a red and black graphite/glass frame with the egg head shape (similar to a puma Becker) and from my own knowledge, it was made around the 80s.
Thanks.

That’s 1984/85. There was also an XLT Boron of which I still have 2

Yep. Dunlop put a lot of eggs in that egg-shaped basket ;) We reps were pretty disappointed when they introduced an entire suite of frames(6 or so in the US) based on the egg.

Bump because I just picked up one of these today at the thrift store and I’m looking for some info on it. Has original strings still, even the Dunlop stencil is there, but I’m wondering what I should string some polys at should I replace them?

It came a decade before the poly folks had any traction at all. I can't imagine any other than the cushiest polys in that frame.

Put some nice synthetic gut in it and get the full effect of the 80’s.

Not sure why you need a cushy poly. The frame is rather flexible and low in vibrations. If you want a lively poly bed, go with 18G then.
I often string many classic stick with 18g poly's to good effect.
The aluminium XLT was a nice stick, too. I had one for years. Very plush and fun to play with.
Very small as well.
