The success of pickleball is partly because of Open Play, but to address the shortcomings a local guy has organized DUPR round robins. Here are the steps.
Create your DUPR account.
The organizer creates a DUPR club
You sign up for a RR at your self rating if you don't already have one.
There are two groups, intermediate and advanced.
After playing many games, DUPR will find your level with the algorithm and you will end up playing with people close to your level, ending mismatches, the main complaint about open play.
Within your group you will be divided into groups of five and everyone will play with each other with one sitting out a game. It could also be just a group of four. Each group will be determined from DUPR rating, high to low.
Scores will be calculated from a points differential. Highest positive score will move up a court and highest negative score will move down. I'm not exactly sure how this works but every point counts.
Match scores are entered into DUPR.
