For those of you able to tear yourself away from the Sinner Saga for more than a moment, I'm sure you have been following closely the series of threads asking the tough questions about the state of tennis around the world (e.g., "What Happened to Cuban Tennis", "Why Eritrean Tennis Gone Downhill So Fast?"), but there's finally some good news on the horizon for at least one tennis nation.
After reaching the Davis Cup finals in 2024, the Netherlands has 5 players in doubles semifinals of Montpelier and two quarterfinalists in Tallon Griekspoor and Jesper de Jong. They might have been joined by Bad Boy Botic himself, if he had not had to face one of his countryman in the first round.
In other words, while the Italians and the Americans might be safe for now behind their wall of top 100 players, the British and the Serbians better watch their backs.
Robin Haase will forever hold a special place in my heart for this on-court bit of fun, but which of the Dutch stars have you enjoyed most? (@vive le beau jeu ! , we know...)
