Eagnas Machines

I'm thinking about buying a stringing machine for the first time and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. Right now I'm looking at machines in the $300-$600 price range and not a tabletop machine. Recently I have been looking at some Eagnas Machines.

There are many threads on Eagnas machines here...have you searched a bit here so you aren't starting at ground zero? Lots of info already out there for your perusal... :)

You'll see that discussions about Eagnas can be a bit, ah, polarizing around here... ;)

They only have 78 models - some decent, some bad...They are the cheapest stringer on the market, and have a reputation of lousy customer support. Read some of the threads and make up your own mind.

They are a discount company that sells stringing machines - kinda like Walmart...buy it, don't bring it back, and don't ask the "salesman" any technical questions.

If price is the bottom line, then you are probably going to buy an Eagnas anyway.

Thanks for all the helpful info. I'm starting to rethink the Eagnas. If you have any other suggestions please post, but for now I'll look at previous posts.

Some other brands you'll want to consider:

- Alpha (Pioneer DC Plus and Revo 4000 in your price range)
- Gamma (Several models in your range)
- Laserfibre (Couple of models)

You can read my fascinating thread when I was deciding...some good posts there about options and issues from members here:

And my machine's arrival:

Post from someone who ordered a Gamma recently:

If you get a table-top, don't forget to leave some $ for a stand:

Enjoy!

i've just bought a (eagnas) 3800 combo for a great price, should be the same machine as the alpha revolution and read some good reviews from that machine, update later...

Maybe before you decide, you should read this thread. It was posted from actual Eagnas owners, not people who "I READ". http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=109611

Also keep in mind Alpha, Gamma, Laserfibre cannot compete price wise with Eagnas, SP, or Mutual Power. My friend has the Alpha Revolution and it is the same machine as the Combo 3800. He paid $2000 about 4 years ago.

You can spend more on a machine, but in my opinion and experience (1000 rackets now strung on my $450 Eagnas 925 purchased last June), the results will not be any better. Other than mounting a frame, pulling tension (tensioner), holding the tension (clamps), what else can a stringing machine do?

Whatever you buy will string a racket. Some are a little easier to use then others, but whose name is on a machine means nothing. They all perform the same function. Look more for features than brand, most come from the same forge.

He is happy with it, took him a bit to get use to the rotational gripper, and was very pleased with the price until I pointed him to the 3800. His Alpha did not come with pre-stretch, and has the older 5 point clamps. He does about 50 rackets a year and has had no issues. Hope you have as good a service with yours as I have with my 2 Eagnas machines.

I have used his Alpha twice, nice machine; clamps on his are cumbersome when stringing tighter patterns. The 3 point Eagnas clamps are much better and similar to the Babolat Star. Post some pictures and a review when you get it. I almost purchased one, my choices were between the SP Aria and the 3800, but wound up with the 925 and then purchased a Wise.
