i have an eagnas. it works great and additionally, i hear good things
about the eagnas clamp from others here it seems.

stronger springs, apparently??

one of eagnas true followings it seems.

can't go wrong. not sure about the MP.

Eagnas starting clamps are very strong. My friend's clamps are harder to open than my clamps. I recently got Babolat Starting Clamps and they are much wider than the Eagnas. They are worth the $59 I paid for them.

you mean the jaws are wider?
if so, perhaps more surface area can equate to a softer spring(s) needed.

I have two Babolat clamps, the older red one and the new black one. They both feel about the same. Yes, the jaws on the latest Babolat clamp are wider. They both feel just right, not too easy and not too tight. Though I have one complaint about the newer clamp is that the Diamond dusting or whatever they use for the gripping surface is a bit rough and does mar string. I guess I need to break them in to dull the surface slightly.

As for the Eagnas Clamps, the pin at the joint slowly wiggles out, Every once in a while I need to tap it back in. On other clamps like the GSS clamps, the pin can be removed to be able to clean the grip surface better.

+1 on the Eagnas clamp. I have one, and I also have a Gamma starting clamp that came with my 6004. I like the Eagnas better.

I owned a Mutual Power machine before I got my Gamma 6004, and I will say that I felt the overall quality of MP was quite good, so I would imagine that their starting clamps are probably very good as well.

But I can only vouch for the Eagnas from personal experience. You'd probably be fine with either though.

Well thats just great my Eagnas starting clamp slips like crazy. I guess they improved them. Went with a good ol gssc or something like that.

I have an Eagnas clamp and a Silent Partner clamp. The eagnas definitely has more holding power and is perfect for bridging.

The Eagnas clamp works great, and you can't beat the price. I have used it as a starting clamp, cinching knots, and extending short string on last pull, and never had any slipping issues.

I just bought an Eagnas starting clamp (I never had one before, just strung one-piece), and it's really hard to open for some reason. Is that normal?

I think Eagnas, Mutual Power, and Pro's Pro are all the same clamp!
I use an Eagnas. The spring is so strong, it hurts my hand!

I have an Eagnas/Pro's Pro starting clamp, whatever you want to call it, all the same.

Not a very good clamp if I am going to be honest. I haven't even got 50 string jobs out of it and I have tried everything to clean it and get it in working order but no luck.

You best bet is to spend a little more and get something with wider jaws and a rougher surface like the Alpha or Babolat clamps which work really really well for a long time.

You get what you pay for, Eagnas/Pro's Pro £15, Alpha/RAB £40, massive difference for just £25.

I have a Gamma starting clamp that I recently purchased from TW, it works fine. They're kind of expensive but it feels solid in your hand.
