Easier to swing: Graphene Speed Pro or IG Prestige MP

Hi,

I am currently playing with the Head Graphene Speed Pro ltd, but I consider switching to the Youtek IG Prestige MP since I can't really get used to the polarized setup and the high swingweight. I am hitting a one-handed backhand and the swingweight is sometimes bothering me, especially on topsin backhands. So my question is whether you would say that the IG Prestige MP is easier to swing on a one-handed backhand due to its lower swingweight or if I am completely mistaken with my assumption.

Cheers

I hated playing with the GSP. Just didn't feel comfortable. I much preferred to play with the IG Prestige MP because it was not only more maneuverable, it has a plush feel and is very precise. Can't go wrong with it. I also have one-handed backhand.
You might want to try the TFight 325 if you like the IGPMP but want a tad bit more power.

You may find the Prestige MP easier to swing stock but you might miss the power of your Speed Pro. I have my IG Prestige MPs set up in a polarized setup and I love it. The Prestige MP seems to be built for a polarized setup.

Thank you both for your replies :). So did the Prestige feel lighter although it is 5 grams heavier than the Speed Pro? And may I ask what NTRP you are? :)

I agree that the Prestige MP feels easier to swing. HOWEVER, it requires more racquet head speed in order to achieve the same result (power and spin), which in the end means you will be swinging harder.

The GSP felt cumbersome..., whereas the IGPMP gave me the confidence to attack the incoming balls. I think that's the difference.

I don't really know my rating... On a good day maybe 5+. On a bad day..., maybe at best 4.5.

My current stick is the Vcore Tour G 330. Not quite dialed in, but that thing is so much fun to hit with.

Thank you all for your replies! :) I'll check out the Prestige MP next week, but to sum things up you're basically saying that it's easier to swing, but you also need more swingspeed to hit a heavy ball. Correct?

Pretty much, but the added control and precision means that it also is easier to outmaneuver your opponent and to finish off a point using placement rather than brute force.

I have 15 grams between 10 and 12 and silicone in the handle. I didn't do the customization work - I bought them that way. It may sound like a lot to swing but I don't have to swing very fast as you can see in the video. It's relatively easy to generate pace with a relatively short backswing and low RHS. It's pretty easy to hit the back fence taking a full cut at the ball without a lot of topspin.

BTW, it took me quite some time (years) to work up to that SW. I went from the KPS88 (stock) to the YT Prestige MPs with lead and gradually added more over time. Jumping ten SW points can result in arm injury.
