Effects of weight tape AFTER removal?

Guys, I feel like I'm nuts to think this, but does adding weight somehow continue to affect the frame after you've decided to go back and taken the tape off? Twice now I've experimented with a frame (two different ones) and decided to revert to stock. The weight is definitely off but the feel of both frames remains different than before I applied it. They both seem to remain a touch head-heavier than before, with a remnant of the deader feel that came with the tape being on there.

In particular, with the two frames I'm using now, I had experimented with one while keeping the other stock. Originally they were both quite well-matched. After taking the weight off the experimental frame, it continues to feel just a bit head-heavier and deader than the untouched one, as above. I can feel it if I pick one out of the bag blindly, and originally they felt nearly the same.

Is this completely in my head, or can weighting effects somehow linger after the taping is pulled off?

I assume you measured the touched one just to see?

lol. yes. the .0000m of adhesive which you can actually see using a microscope will actually make a small difference to the swing weight. you need to use goof off and really scrub that stuff off. or you will not be able to get it back to stock.
