    Hi Guys,

I found an Ektelon Model C racquet stringer on craigslist for $120. The seller says that it is in good working order, and the picture appears to confirm this (no rust, all parts included, etc.). He says that it still works and is quite fast for stringing racquets, but bought a new stringer. I have read other posts about Ektelon stringers, but have not been able to find anything about the model C (I'm assuming it is an even older model). I would only be using it to string my own racquets in order to avoid the $20 stringing fees even when I provide my own strings. I play with the Wilson K Factor Six One 95, and am assuming that the stringer would work with it (I do not care about stringing oversized racquets). Since it is not too large of an investment, I think I will go ahead and get it. Any thoughts on this model? At this price? Does anyone have the manual on pdf? Can I calibrate the tensioner, or should I just send it in to tennismachines (and how much is that)? I have used the Prince Neos 1000, how much does the model C differ?

    Thank you all!

    Steve

Can you post the pics? Curious to see what the machine looks like.

We have an old Ektelon model in our stringer graveyard, but not sure of the model. It's definitely pre-model H.

If the C is in good shape, definitely a great investment vs a new drop-weight unit-

not sure if the tension head track is the same as the model H. If it is, you should try to find a model H head as an upgrade

As is, still much better than a drop-weight for what you'd be paying-

Looks like a Craigs list photo..Probably have to ask the owner of it for some better pics OF course, someone who has a nice droid or iphone can use google goggles, scan it and find results..

I had the Model C and did get the adapter kit to upgrade it to the Model D. I think it cost at least $250-300 for the kit back then. I sold it about two years later to get the Model H. Have not looked back since. Ektelon/Prince machines are just solid and their tech support team knows their stuff.
