El Shapo is THE next one

Been a lot of talk about Zverev's so called progress around here, although there are many haters (deservedly so) criticising him. "Anyone but Zverev" is already as famous as Sureshs' carbohydrate-based diet. While the "Anyone but Zverev" bandwagon relies almost solely on his antics and persona, there should be a critisicm focused towards his game as well. He is lousy in Grand Slam tournaments. He finally reached a QF for the first time, only to be humiliated by a Thiem that couldn't even get a set of a declining Nadal (he actually lost a set this time at RG, not to be forgotten).

Not only can't Zverev perform in Slams, he can't put a volley back in play and he even has a brother that is a volley masterer! I just don't get it.

Still, this giraffe looking German is hyped as the next big thing. It's ridiculous. There should be only one player who can be labeled like that and his name is Denis Shapovalov. He's got an all court game with an impressive serve, a forehand like Nadal and a backhand like Federer. He also doesn't dump volleys in the net 2 feets from it.

If Zverev has the quote "Anyone but Zverev" dedicated to him, El Shapo should have the quote "Who else but Shapovalov?" belonging to him because he is the chosen one - there can't be anyone else. It's time for this youngster to shine. He is more talented than Nadal who first hit the stage during the weak era, so any achievements from back then shouldn't be accounted for. We also remember the 2017 Nadal with two slams getting completely humiliated by Shapovalov in Montreal. And he isn't even 20 years old yet...

In a few weeks time Shapovalov will win his first Grand Slam title, one of many coming. I estimate 15+ GS titles for the great Shapo. If it wasn't for the weak era, no player would have had more than 15 GS titles, so if Shapovalov reaches that number, he is the GOAT. And unlike Federer who servebotted his way to his achievements, Shapovalov will do it in style, hitting winner after winner until his opponents will likely give up. I even think the umpires can take an occasional hit in the eye if they get to experience the next level of tennis that Shapovalov will produce right before their eyes.
