A potentially high entertaining match with brutal ball striking and laser beans firing from both ends, as both play with the same style

If other people are like me, mostly they don't give a damn yet. This upcoming match is just about the only bright spot all week. I don't care to ever see another match with Nishikori, because I know he will never win anything big, and the moment things get tough he will default. Wawrinka and Shapo is interesting. One could start to make a mark, the other could return to a better place. I don't know how well Stan is playing. If he is fit and starting to be match tight, I'd go with him for the win.

So far Shapo's return is amazingly average, and he's stuck at winning around 50% of his points.50% of points is OK for a very young player providing he is still very immature and has a lot of growth coming in his game. That's where Fed was through 2000. That jumped up to 52% in 2001. Shapo still has time, especially considering that players now rise slower.

Wawrinka has never been much over 52%. I have never understood his stats. On paper he's not even a slam winner, yet he is. Weird.

OP: I can't vote for Stan, because Stanimal is not playing. It's merely good old Stanley...

I still think experience wins him the match. And I hope so, too. I thought he returned well against Raonic, especially when Raonic came in.

Shap's return sux because he tries to return with a topspin shot all the time.. should just learn a slice return. Even the two greatest returners of all time, agassi and djoker don't go for a topspin return all the time..

Wawrinka's return is bad due to grip changes, but still his slice return is effective for returning big serves sometimes

Yes he's not stanimal anymore.
But stanimal can surely make a comeback if he finds his rhythm

Honestly I think it's a pretty important match for both players. Both could really use the win and momentum to make a run in a decent tournament like this. Both need the consecutive wins cause they have been mixing good wins with losing to journeymen left, right and centre lately.

For the first time in many years i have faith in a #NextGen. I believe in the Shapo but i dont know if he is ready yet. I like both players but lets go for Shapo in 3.
