Elbow Bone Bruise?

I have researched tennis and golf elbow until i'm numb, and one thing i notice is that there is pain going down the inside of the forearm or the outside of the forearm depending on if you have golfer or tennis elbow with pretty much all the posts. I have been having elbow pain for months but i don't have pain shooting down my forearm. The pain is localized pretty much just on the inside of the elbow like on the funny bone. There is pain nowhere else. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried all the recommended rehab exercises with pretty much nothing to show for it. I can still play and feel little pain with a elbow strap but it hurts in the outside world with job and everyday life. Thanks

That is where my GE was located, right on the funny bone area. I never got the forearm pain like others have reported. Mine actually started out in the triceps tendon and then I developed GE I think from trying not to aggravate that injury. Mine used to hurt on serves mostly. When it got really bad, forehands hurt too.

I had to sit out for 2 months and do about 12 sessions of ultrasound/electrostimulation therapy. Tell us about your current racket and strings too. You may be using too stiff a setup with your injury. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Mike, racquet is a head microgel radical os with gamma professional 16 (livewire) strung at 55 pds. May have to try that electrotherapy sp?.

Give it a shot. It's not something that works overnight though. If your pain is a 10 going into the first session, it might take it down to a 9 the next day. As you get down to less pain, you may go from a 3 to a 2.5 after a session. This is the first time I ever visited a chiropractor and boy am I glad I did.

Is your real name LeBron James? J/K

It's actually very common to have the pain of golfer's elbow limited to the inside elbow area and not include the forearm muscles as well.

Has this included using the Theraband Flexbar? Have you taken time off from tennis?

I have been dealing with tennis/golfer's elbow for the better part of two years. I rested it for several months over the winter and did a lot of strength exercises for my right arm. I thought I had it in pretty good shape.

This season I've had recurring pain with overuse, but it has generally gone away with icing and rest following play.

That is, until a few nights ago. I had hit a round on the ball machine. As I was picking up balls and swatting them over the net I felt a twinge in the area of the elbow described by the OP. It was sudden and it hurt really good.

My newest injury feels like a bruise and it is different than te/ge, but it is hard to distinguish because of the overall pain I have experienced there.

It is very discouraging because my strokes are getting really reliable and effective. I am 36 now and I guess I am resigned to hitting then resting for two or three days. I like to play tourneys in the summer, but there is no way I can last through more than two rounds of a tourney dealing with this arm issues. No fun at all.
