Semi-Pro
Quick overview... I am a teaching pro full time... on court I guess about 30 hrs a week... combo of just feeding and some sort of hitting lesson/sparring everyday, so I play more than your average player I suppose..
About 1 1/2 years ago I was in a sparring lesson, hit a FH and had a horrible pain shoot through my arm... had to keep working in terrible pain for weeks, but finally got MRI and was told 'significant tear' of the tendon that runs along the top of the arm around the elbow... was recommended I see an Ortho to see if surgery was needed... I unfortunately lost that job soon after and access to healthcare and never went... it eventually 'healed' and I have been mostly pain free the last several months...
however... pain has slowly crept back in... my question is this..
full groundstrokes and serves are not particularly painful... what is giving me the most pain is feeding.. particularly when arm is cold or after a hit... AND big time on volleys... particularly FH volleys.... it feels like my arm is breaking when the ball hits the racquet on a volley...
Any ideas why that particular stroke would hurt so much worse? It seems to be at certain angles when arm is extended and then at impact with the ball that the pain rockets through the arm..
