Ellesse Fans: Check your local Marshalls

It is billed as the Roma "Track" Jacket, but it looks and feels like a very, very nice tennis warm-up jacket. Found two today at Marshalls for 19.99 each. Black, with two stripes on each arm (orange and red) and same in a white. All the traditional Ellesse badging and "Roma" stitched in cursive in very small cursive lettering on the very top of the back. Original tags are still on ($120). Looks sharp IMO and worth a look -- cold weather awaits.....

Do you have pics of what it looks like? Will need to check out my local Marshall's when I have time. Would love to know what to keep my eye out for.

Thanks!

So far I've hit two Marshall's in West LA and found one single Ellesse warmup jacket in a different colorway, size XS.

Maybe more will trickle thru here, but so far it's meager pickings.

Ooof, that's not good. Wonder if they are shipping more to Northeast because of fall weather. But I'm sure LA has a larger market for tennis apparel than CT..... Hope your luck improves.

Wow!! Thanks so much for this thread. Just picked up a $100 Sempre jacket for $19.99 this morning! Wow!
They had some cool MLB training shorts in there with pockets suitable for tennis but didn’t have my team. They were like $15. Definitely going to check this spot more often!!!

Just drove to the Marshalls on the other side of town and picked up another warm up jacket MSRP $95 for $19.99, this one pink and sky blue on black. Both times they seemed to be the last one on the rack.

What part of the country are you in, @5sets. Still haven't had time to check out the stores yet.

This is the Northeast. This morning I found the Sempre model- navy blue red and white, and this afternoon I found the Vinales model, black pink and sky blue. They were both XXL which is probably why I got lucky but since it’s European sizing fits me perfect like an XL. Struck out on any shorts, bottoms, or socks.

Wow, good score, but completely different from the ones i got. I posted a link to the style my Connecticut Marshall's had. Must be sending most to Northeast.
I think you have the more Classic looking ones. I’m surprised so many different color ways are making it out to stores. I think Marshall’s catches prior years from Tennis store closeouts. I like the funcionality of these. Nylon warmup instead of poly track jacket. I’m going to keep one and flip the other and keep going back looking for more gold.

Found two 3 packs of the Mussel Ellesse boxer briefs for $10 a piece at a TJ Maxx last night. Went to another Maxx and a Ross this morning and they were dry.

Nice! I’m like a mile from Hartford Tennis Club. Play at farmington farms in the winter and the red clay of farmington field club alot too..... Good tennis spot!
My Dad was cheap so we played at Farmington Valley Racquet Club lol.

My richer friends were members at Farmington Farms and I loved the indoor bubble...I think that was carpet, right?

Hahaha! Today at least Farmington RC has much nicer courts imo than farmington farms, which was bought a few years ago by a big box gym. Courts have always been regular hard courts. Bloomfield Racquet has the plushest best facilities close by — hard courts with cork under lay for shock absorption and indoor har tru. Ton of $ went into it. Lmk if you are ever in the area and want to hit

Found a pair of Ellese XXL shorts at local Marshall's for $12.99...even at XXL they looked kinda small. Passed on them

411,

I may not need to say this but ...

... at Marshall's, Ross, etc. don't trust any size placarded on the hangar. If you are actually interested in the item find the garment label itself for verification.

(=> a corollary to this is: scan the other size sections, too, if you are really hunting for something, since the fact outlined in my statement above means your size may very well be in the wrong zone.)

All that’s true that TJ maxx and Marshall’s carry irregular garments/ small defects, etc., but with Ellesse it’s across the board running small everywhere because us Americans are fatter than Europeans, so size up when purchasing.

Very true.... But for the jackets i found, i used the same size but it is definitely more snug than if i bought adidas, nike. Definitely consider sizing up -- at least with respect to shirts/jackets for brands like Lotto, Yonex, Australian, etc.....
