Empirical confirmation that Nadal was injured in Shanghai final.

All of us could see how Nadal had lost mobility and couldn't return Federer's serve due to his knee problem in Shanghai. Nadal even had a bandage on his knee (something he didn't wear the whole 2017).

Now Nadal has withdrawn from next week's Swiss Indoors in Basel to rest his sore knee. After visiting his physician in Spain, it has been determined that Nadal is suffering "an over stressing of the knee."

I hope for his quick recovery which he should. . . To me he is a bit drained and Knee doesn't look much severe

You surely didn't notice this for the first time now ? This has been his standard modus operandi for years now.

Of course he would come with a bandage as he needed a preemptive excuse in case he lost for the fifth consecutive time against his one time pigeon when the said former pigeon is 36 years old.
I know. Hence the "The guy is perfect at getting the world to know he lost due to injury, without saying it. "
Other famous instances - after AO-loss to Ferrer (where he was legitimately injured):
"I don't have to tell you about what I felt on the court because I tried my best all the time. But is obvious that I didn't feel at my best. I had a problem during the match, in the very beginning. After that, the match was almost over. So that's what I can say.
But you know what, for me is difficult come here and speak about. In Doha I wasn't healthy. Today I have another problem. Seems like I always have problems when I lose, and I don't want to have this image, no? I prefer don't talk about that today."

And my personal favorite, after WTF-final loss to Federer, the red part is pure genius :D:D:D:
Yesterday almost nobody believed that you were tired, because you're never tired, but today you seemed to be tired. You were a little slow. Did you feel that in your legs, apart from Federer playing well, or not?
RAFAEL NADAL: I think is not the right moment to talk about that. The thing is everybody saw the match of yesterday, so everybody's free to think his own opinion.
But I don't gonna say I lost the match because I was tired (read: But please, please write that I did).

Man if Fed only had half the brains to use this strategy in 2013 when he was *actually* injured.

Throw in some gems like "Yeah I am hampered by my back as I have been all of this year but this is not the right time to talk about it. He deserved the win and congrats to him"

hehe, I'm glad he doesn't. But the media eats it completely, here's the Guardian about the WTF-final:
"It was no surprise that Nadal refused to use the exertions of the Murray match as an excuse – although he plainly looked tired". :D:D:D, genius PR by Rafa

Yeah, sure. His head to head vs Wawrinka prove your words.
Try harder next time.

What was Federer's h2h against Hewitt before he turned the screw and started to waste him?

Moreover, why is h2h relevant? We're talking about a specific match. In any match, between any 2 posters, player A can badly oitplay player B ,even if the latter had shown that he's a better player for the most part.

On that day, Wawrinka annihilated Nadal. If you'd like to believe that he was injured, that's fine. Pretty much everyone other than Nadal fans see it differently.

But whatever helps you sleep at night.

Lol. And his fanboys take after him!
