Enduro snapped during stringing...grrrr

I've strung Enduro a few times before without any problem. Tonight I was stringing 16g Enduro Pro as a cross on my Wilson NTour Two, when about midway it just snapped while tensioning with my drop weight tabletop machine. I was going for 58lbs, which is 3lbs above mid tension, so nothing unusual about that. I thought maybe the grommets were bad, but this was my newest racket, only strung a couple of times.

I'll have to run to the pro shop in the morning to pick up another set of cross strings, so my racket is sitting on the table with just the mains finished. I like Enduro as much as any poly including ALU, but if this is the tradeoff for the lower price then it's not worth it. Anyone else have problems with Enduro snapping? Maybe I just had a bad set (although the other half of that set I strung without any problem).

Not had any problems but DO NOT leave your racket with just the mains in there....do you want a broken racket?

Take the mains out dude. Enduro has been nothing but a ***** for me but my best tennis mate uses it as a full racket so I have to do it for him, because I'm a nice guy, he pays me $25 though which is more than I charge anyone else. If he supplies he gives me $15 + shouts me a drink.

Correct. Why? It's a ***** to string and he knows as he's seen me do it, he offers $30 (he's fairly well off) and his mum always insists on paying me atleast $25.

Well it just seems a high price for a crap string..

I would feel bad charging a mate that..

Anyway you shouldnt charge based on string type...enduro is fine to string...if you find it a **** to string work on your technique.

Around my way, the cheapest job of syn gut is probably $40 so he's getting a good deal already. Also I can get it to him the next day so it's the quickest around here (minimum is a week at least)

Yeah, this area is horrible for strings, plus nobody at all sells string by itself, I have asked at least 15 pro shops if they sell string and about 5 sports stores and nothing besides people offering to string my racket.

yea i feel bad when i have to leave a racket mid string for over 5 minutes.

I just cut the mains out since I won't have time to do the crosses until later. I'm not a complete stringing novice, but I didn't know leaving just mains in was such a bad idea

btw - the mains were just cheapo Gosen Micro, and I have a reel of it so no big loss.
