She would be obliterated by college level guys. I remember one time Nadal hit a heavy topspin forehand at her during Kids Day in Australia and she was shocked out of her mind at the spin and velocity of Nadal's ball when she tried to retrieve it. LOLno... She still would have won an overwhelming majority of her matches in 2 or 3 sets.
The WTA GOAT & teacher of GLOAT (Greatest Lesson Of All Time)
Gosh, she screams and grunts horribly. Yet still everyone complains only about Sharapova and Vika.
Indeed. She's closer to the men (i.e. not really annoying at all). It's the screamers that are the problem. Nadal, Djoker, Serena don't bother me muchSerena is bad but her pitch is lower, which makes her grunt less irritating than those of Sharapova and Azarenka.

Serena plays girls tennis. Real tennis is on the ATP circuit. That's why there's barely a blip on these tennis forums regarding Serena's "accomplishments". Nobody cares.
Plus hers is not constant like theirs. She could go an entire tournament without grunting. Her grunting is more related to how she is emotionally in the match. If she is calm, poised she will be quiet or at least some very small grunting thats barely inaudible over the sound of the tennis balls being hit. That serena is the serena thats come to F sh1t up.Serena is bad but her pitch is lower, which makes her grunt less irritating than those of Sharapova and Azarenka.
Well whatever sponsors she gets outside of tennis is her good fortune. It's not easy surviving on tennis winnings unless you're a top player. If you have good looks then you can get a lot of endorsements and sponsors as Kournikova was getting despite not winning any significant tournaments in singles.True... But if the women played 5 sets, she would have more majors.
Does anyone else think it's an embarrassment for the WTA when Bouchard is the highest paid player? She worked hard but not on her tennis game. Did she ger "equal pay for equal work?" At least Sharapova won some.

I think women should play best of 5 sets in the Slams. Equal pay would be valid then. Why get paid equal for doing a lot less work on the court? With the ATP, on court performance translates to bigger earnings off the court. Federer and Nadal are decent looking fellows but they ain't exactly runway models. Still.. they sell shedloads of stuff for their sponsors.
It seems the the path to earnings on the WTA is to have good looks, social media presence, SI bikini issues, etc... I'm not claiming this is a problem BTW. If the women want to do whatever they can to boost earnings, why not? Good for them. Not going to complain that their attractive ATP counterparts do not have the same opportunity.
Tennis is entertainment... IMO ATP tennis more entertaining and that's where my money is going. I find it ridiculous that most people arguing the case for equal pay in sports have never been to a WNBA or a NWSL game.
Serena is the GOAT... for women's tennis.

Wow, you don’t even post correct information. Bouchard isn’t the highest paid player. Serena is and then Kerber and then Venus. Are you that thick that you can’t even google? Pathetic.True... But if the women played 5 sets, she would have more majors.

Key word being parody. If you know it’s parody, why bother posting here acting like it’s real without any indication that it’s actually BS? Just another person criticising the women’s tour.Chill... Obviously you're not following this parody thread:

Fedr
Sharapova wasn’t in the top 3 earners last year either. Really not sure what your point in regards to highest earners is.OK then just replace Bouchard with Sharapova for credibility then.
For the record... my criticism is actually for the people who argue 5 sets is equal work. It's not... you and I could play 1,000 sets of tennis and no one will pay a dime. I don't blame the WTA or women athletes in other sports for fighting for every penny they can get. Good for them.
In sports we pay for the POSSIBILITY of being entertained. I may enjoy ATP tennis more but that's a general statement with exceptions. For example, I will choose to pay to watch a good WTA match up over any match with Isner, Raonic or Karlovic.
I put Serena in the same category of players like Graf and Sampras that I didn't appreciate enough during their younger days, and came to appreciate them more during the latter stages of their careers.
Beating Davenport and Hingis back to back to win her 1999 US Open at the age of 17 was certainly some achievement. Then she got the congratulatory phone call from Bill Clinton.
Her first and and most recent titles at each of the majors plus the have come at least 13 years apart; 13 years at the AO, 13 years at RG, 14 years at Wimbledon and 15 years at the USO. Plus her first and most recent YEC titles, Miami titles (the most important regular season tour event for her) and year end no. 1 finishes were all secured 13 years apart, Rome titles 14 years apart, and her 2 Serena slams were achieved 12 and a half years apart. Damn impressive there !
I kind of wish that Serena was able to equal or even overhaul Navratilova's record of 9 Wimbledon, just because Navratilova has been such a bitter ego-maniac over the years, and that's clearly the record that she cherishes the most. It would have been hilarious. But then on the other hand I sort of wish that Venus could have ended her career with more Wimbledon titles than Serena (it would have been 6 vs. 2 had she won the 2009 final), just so she had 'something' over Serena in terms of tennis achievements.
But Serena's achieved are already superhuman enough anyway !
The Bo5 bellyaching will magically disappear after Serena retire.Quite possible one of the dumbest suggestion I’ve read on this forum. Clearly you have absolutely no clue on how tennis tournaments are run.
Strong era.By the way what happened to Serena in the mid 2000s or so when she should have been in her prime? It seems a large part of her slams came when she was very young and after she turned 30. Why did she win so few from around 2003-2006?
I don't see why it would stop after Serena retiring. For me ATP and WTA are incomparable because of the bo5 nature in slams. The Bo5 bellyaching will magically disappear after Serena retire.
When trying to delegitimize Serena's accomplishments, they delegitimize Graf, Evert, Court, Martina body of work too.
Women were never required to play best of 5 in Slams. And the Slams are not controlled by the ATP or WTA.I don't see why it would stop after Serena retiring. For me ATP and WTA are incomparable because of the bo5 nature in slams.
I have no problem with either of those.Women were never required to play best of 5 in Slams. And the Slams are not controlled by the ATP or WTA.
The US Open had be offering equal prize money since the 70s without demanding best of 5 from women.
Yeah well...I'm not the one who ever said that the women's game is run completely off the backs of the menQuite possible one of the dumbest suggestion I’ve read on this forum. Clearly you have absolutely no clue on how tennis tournaments are run.
What does that have to do with women getting equal pay to the men while playing only best of 3 compared to best of 5?I think men should have periods and use birth control for not getting pregnant while on high peak of their career. This was discussed to death already. Kuznetsova summed it up quite nicely 2 years ago in Miami.
You start to feel a bit bad for Venus after you realize just how many times Serena beat her. I did anyway.
What does that have to do with women getting equal pay to the men while playing only best of 3 compared to best of 5?
The fact that women must sacrifice more than men to get a decent career in tennis and that should be paid accordingly. And btw women had best of 5 in the WTA finals for some time.
Well thats just plain false. Venus led the H2h 5-2 before 2002. So i don't know why you keep spreading around false information.Whats even worse is venus had to let serena win in the beginning.
Its probably what he means. Male players don't have to take 1+ year off when they have kids.I'm not sure what you mean by this... are you referring to delaying having a child? This is a serious question.
