ESPN shows Venus instead of Federer

ESPN is back to showing its usual crap. Williams, Williams, RodNeck, and Davenport!

I would like to see Dent / Hewitt, Keifer / Federer, or any other match.

They said if any time left they might show something highlights.

Sorry guys, I know what it feels like. I lived in the US for 15 years and just recently moved here to Germany. Here they show all the good matches. Way better than that ESPN crap.

why do they keep showing women's tennis.... no one cares alright. it's so boring, does Venus know she can hit a drop shot sometimes????

I think they'll show the federer match on today at wimbledon....although i like venus and hantuchova, id have liked them to switch between the two matches. Hopefully they'll show federer on " today Wimbledon" or whatever its called...but they did show a couple points, one of which federer hit a great topspin bachand crosscourt flicker for a passing shot-relly cool!

Venus's tennis against Hantuchova, was of a higher quality than Roger's ragged performance vs Kiefer. In retrospect they made the right choice, but you dont know those things at the time. I am surprised at their initial choice, given the uncertainty to what the quality of tennis would be, but they always lean towards U.S players who are better known in the U.S.

Well, given that all of federer's other matches were shown live and then shown again on tape it is about time we saw a wta match. Yesterday there were terrific women's matches not shown. We saw Gimelstob instead of Myskina, former french open champion(10-8 in the 3rd). We, fans of the wta, were shafted yet again so it is so weak when people complain that a men's match was not shown in its' entirety. We have yet to see an entire Myskina match, any of clijsters, any of Dementieva, any of Kuznetsova, any of Petrova, any of Pierce...all of whom are contenders to win Wimbledon and a highlight of match point does not count as coverage in my book. However, we have seen all the contenders on the atp and some non contenders too.

Davey, sorry but the statistics don't tell that story. Venus had only 5 more winners than errors and Hantuchova was minus 3. Both men in the Fed - Kiefer match were on the plus side - and Fed was an impressive 52 winners, 24 unforced. And that backhand at the end was incredible.

I will say that the ladies match was competitive enough that once they started with it it would have been hard to pull the plug and go to the men's match.
