I see. Thank you!! I'm still learning all the rules and dynamics out there.

Seems like Iceland has been a Cinderella story? A bit like Wales? I hope they can fight back a little here, but I fear you're right about feeling tense and making more mistakes. :(

Definitely a cinderella story. No one expected them to go undefeated in their group and finish above Portugal and Austria, and even less so knocking out England. Wales too have been such a story, although not nearly to the same extent as they have several world class players and so on.

Would be nice if Iceland could get a goal for consolation. They can perhaps hope that the French get slightly lax with the big lead.

Oh! Just as I was typing a reply, they score! :) :) I'm glad they have this, at least.

If it were Wales or Portugal they were facing, that could become the case, but I don't think it will happen against Germany. They are too strong to be underestimated by any team.

My concern is the French team may become frustrated and rash when they don't take Germany apart like they're doing to Iceland, but as you say teams never underestimate Germany.

No because this has been a French team that has underperformed........this is how they should play.

If they carry this over to Germany it going to be a loooong night for Les Boche........still have not seen Coman and Pogba finally got his goal.

.........'Boche'...............I learnt a new word today. Both semi's look to be great matches, open attacking football unless they decide to clam up. As I see it France has more fire-power than Germany.

Why were they playing over time? Isn't 90min the usual timeframe? If it's not tied, why did they go over? o_O /football newbie

Football has extra time......running clock but the ref keeps field time. They add up the stoppage and penalties and add that to the end of each have.

Runs from 1min to 4 once in awhile you see additional 5min

My prediction back on 1st of June is looking good..

Wales to win the whole thing.

Joe Allen last minute winner in the final against Germany or France.

Heard it here first.

I hope you will join the side of the Devils if you start following club football. ;)

I'll have to figure out what club football is! Is that where your username comes from? :)

Dont. Will be the biggest mistake of your life. :p

Hahaha.......Germany always strong but Hummel out and this is not a young powerhouse German team and they looked horrible vs Italy. But Germany is still Germany and will be tough.

I see a French win 3-2 (maybe just maybe 4-2)

What are the odds now for France and Germany?

There are always some stoppages during normal time (free kicks, substitutions, goal celebrations, injuries) so the referee tries to make up for it by giving those additional minutes.

My prediction back on 1st of June is looking good..

3-2, 4-2? Either score line should make it a great entertaining match but that's the over confidence I was alluding to.

I wonder if Boteng will start for Germany? His speed and power adds a lot to the German defence but equally as was seen in the Italy match under certain set plays he can be a liability.

Maybe on penalties after a 0-0 draw given the way this tournaments been on the whole. Think the Germans are taking it, not been their most stylish run, a win over Italy on penalties, however unimpressive doesn't really count for all that much in my view and they've been effective enough doing what they need to and still the best squad in the tournament players-wise and they are a proper team as well. Hard to look past them for the whole thing expect to see them step up a level in the semis, although would like to see France get through out of the two, but would love Wales to win it, that would be amazing.

Interesting to see that Allardyce is now the second favourite for the England job. If they hire him it will show that they have not learned a thing from having Roy Hodgson as manager. Basically a slightly worse version of Roy Hodgson who plays even uglier football. Why the hell Hoddle is in the mix is ridiculous too, how long since his last job in management 15 years or something? Hiddink would be excellent if they could draw him Klinsmann I'm not completely convinced by but he has done a good job at international level with USA, but certainly better than a lot of those names mentioned.

Wales missed Ramsey so much but I think they would have been lucky to draw with Portugal if he played. I'm not a fan of PKs to settle games so it's just as well it played out as it did tonight.

Germany/France winner will capture the Cup.

Considering half the Welsh team is actually English, I'd of thought a heartbreaking penalty shoot out loss would of been on the cards :p

Unlucky Wales, hopefully they carry this on. Would be great to see them at a World Cup.
