No one is suppressing or censoring your kook. We are disagreeing with him. As an authoritarian, you don't engage in critical debate.

There is plenty of data and evidence to prove that RFK Jnr is correct - why suppress or censor it? What have you got to lose ?

You called him a kook - that’s an attempt to censor, demonise and shut people up which is what authoritarians try to do.
People who engage in critical debate discuss and compare ideas and don’t call people kooks. I think we should investigate the food that people are eating, the chemicals in foods and the drugs people take and see if we can do things in a better way.

Americans love huge pick-up trucks because they were given major price incentives to buy American pick-ups by their government.
That's just not correct. The government didn't give incentives for people to buy standard gasoline powered pickup trucks. In fact, gas-guzzling tax was passed in the '90s specifically to discourage people from buying them. Didn't matter. They still pretty much outsell just about everything.

My information is that 25% tariffs were placed on imports of autos in the pick-up category. If American autos are substantially cheaper than the foreign competition then this is a price incentive to buy American.

That did not make the American trucks any cheaper than they were and the government didn't give any tax credit for buying them. So people could have bought small efficient foreign cars much cheaper than US pickups but they kept buying the trucks.

Everyone who is able to understand plain English knows you are wrong. You said the govt. gave incentives to people who bought the popular full-size trucks by adding costs to foreign trucks. That is not how the EV incentives work. But, since Global Warming is your religion, I expected from the beginning that you would be immune to logic and facts. Carry on.

I was talking about tariffs on particular classes of ICE autos like pick-ups. I wasn't referring to EV incentives.

Tariffs on foreign BEVs will mean that Tesla BEVs just got a free ride from the American taxpayer to price gouge.

Thanks for proving me right by trying to move the goalposts. Tesla EV =/= Pickup trucks. The price of a pick up trucks are outselling much cheaper cars that don't have tariffs. In fact, Ford stopped making cars except the Mustang in 2021 because people were buying the more expensive Explorers and Expeditions in addition to the F-150 trucks.

The pick-up is also a rich man's toy these days. That's why Elon built the Cybertruck.

I guess you like Kennedy, judging from this quote from your link above,

"On other matters he has more support, for example in scrutinising the processing of food and the use of additives."

This article is not by scientists, but from journalists, a big difference.

Tariffs and tax subsidies are two different things.

Most people will not pay the tariffs.

Tariffs happened under Trump 1.0 and under Biden.

Don’t gaslight me!

BEV tariffs stood at a relatively low 25% from 2016-2020. The EU imposed 10% BEV tariffs during this time.
You have failed to explain why CCP BEVs made some inroads into EU and UK but utterly failed to break into the American market, the most lucrative market, during this low-tariff 2016-2020 era.

Chinese BEVs weren't around in 2016-20. They took off after this and therefore US tariffs were created to block them. America thinks it's at war with China.

The Wuhan lab leak and cover up certainly did not help matters! The truth is slowly coming out.

Classified State Department Documents Credibly Suggest COVID-19 Lab Leak, Wenstrup Pushes for Declassification

WASHINGTON — The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic recently reviewed classified U.S. Department of State (State Department) documents that credibly suggest COVID-19 originated from a lab related accident in Wuhan, China. The documents also strongly convey that the Chinese Communist Party attempted to cover-up the lab leak and that the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) maintains a relationship with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) is requesting the State Department rapidly declassify this information and share the truth about the origins of COVID-19 with the American people.
These documents were previously released in an unclassified and highly redacted Freedom of Information Act production, first obtained and reported on by U.S. Right to Know — a nonprofit working to expose government failures that threaten public health. The redacted documents showed numerous, highly suggestive subject lines including:
  • Initial Outbreak Could Have Been Contained in China if Beijing Had Not Covered it Up
  • Xi Lied to Obfuscate His Role in the Cover-Up
  • PLA Contractor Involved in the Construction of the Wuhan Institute of Virology
  • PLA Presence at WIV Continued After Construction Completed
  • Official Chinese Websites Show Robust Cooperation between WIV and PLA
  • Cyber Evidence of PLA Shadow Labs at WIV and Bioengineering University
As mounting evidence continues to point to a lab related accident in Wuhan, China as the likely origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, safely removing these superfluous redactions is a step towards transparency and accountability.

We write to you today to request that you immediately take steps to declassify this information such that the American people have a more complete picture of the government’s evidence regarding the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic,” wrote Chairman Wenstrup.

Trudeau was humiliated in Mar-a-Lago, so Canadian prices will skyrocket. And Canadian exports to America will cause price rises in America.

Nobody's gaslighting you my dear. Tariffs sometimes happen. And sometimes tariffs get taken off the table.
Very odd that you fail to recognize that the threats of tariffs are often used as bargaining tools to get deals done.
Talks are ongoing as foreign leaders squirm. Keep the faith.

People are being killed. It is first and foremost a matter of national security.

Rationale for Tariffs: Trump has framed the tariff proposal as a strategy to protect American citizens from what he calls an "invasion" of drugs and illegal immigrants.
He argues that both Canada and Mexico have the capability to address these issues but have not done enough.

In other words, tariffs are a hoax but useful as part of foreign policy to intimidate not the enemy ... but one's own allies.

You can buy me a new one and have a local dealer deliver it and I'll sell my current car for scrap.

Bart - I have a deal for you - if I can find a used EV roughly to the same value of your Honda and I drive it up to you - would you do a swap, give or take a few dollars if need be to be fair ? Only extra fee would be the transfer of registration ?
At least then you could be a true believer of EV’s.
This one is cheap enough right

What’s wrong with your car that it needs to go to scrap? How much is it worth roughly ? Is it an Accord Euro, Civic or CRV ? How old is it ?
What’s wrong with that 2nd hand 12 year old EV with only 80k for an asking price of $7500?

The point is to take an ICE off the road, not sell it on so it keeps adding to CO2.

No you are adding another EV because the guy selling his Leaf is buying another new EV. So all you are doing is releasing yourself from your Honda while it’s worth something and getting the EV. Is it something like 2004 Accord Euro that you have ?

But there will only be one fewer ICE auto on the road If I sell it for scrap. It doesn't matter who owns the car. Selling it doesn't make a Honda disappear.

Ok well maybe sell your car for scrap and use that money for a deposit for the 2012 Nissan Leaf with 80k for $7500. You might even get it for $7000.
