I already told Croc Trudeau had resigned in post #4,435, but Canada is united against tariffs so the national election will reflect this fact.

Trudeau has already announced his resignation, coming up very soon.

He will pass the torch to another Liveral climate agitator and the national election will be in March.

America's rights are limited by the voluntary constraints it placed on itself by agreements it made. Unless America repudiates them, they should not be violated.
There are no violations on agreements. America has violated no trade agreements with the CCP. America signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership which deliberately excluded the CCP.

So American tariffs on Bart's favourite CCP are perfectly legal and not in violation of any trade agreements.

Both nations are members of the WTO.

If these American tariffs on the CCP constituted trade agreement violations the WTO would have ruled as such.

With regard to the WTO, America is clearly in violation of its rules with regard to China. The WTO will rule on this once the Chinese complaint is heard.

Canada’s Ambassador to U.S.: Canadians ‘Perplexed,’ ‘Hurt’ by U.S. Tariffs

Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman said Sunday on “This Week” that Canadians were “perplexed” and “hurt” by the United States’ tariffs.

Partial transcript as follows:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Your reaction to the Trump moves?
HILLMAN: Well, I mean, we’re – we’re disappointed, obviously. This is a disrupting and incredibly successful trading relationship. A trading relationship that was just renewed by President Trump in his last term when we renegotiated the NAFTA and brought our trade between our two countries to 99 percent tariff-free. So, we’re really disappointed and we’re hopeful that they don’t come into effect on Tuesday. We’re ready to continue to talk to the Trump administration about that. And in particular about all the work that we’re doing with them, and on our own with respect to the border and the issues that the president has said are at the core of this — this move.
STEPHANOPOULOS: What could happen between now and Tuesday that would prevent the tariffs from being implemented?
HILLMAN: Well, I mean, I think that – that is really something that is in the president’s hands. We have been meeting nonstop with his border officials. We’ve invested a billion dollars in furthering some of our equipment on the border, ensuring that we have the boots on the ground, working with the U.S. police service on joint training, joint exercises, going to China with them to deal with the precursor problem. So, we are – we are leaning in hard on this, and we feel that we’ve made incredible progress. You know, illegal crossings between Canada and the United States, as you said in your opener, are less than 1 percent of the crossings into the United States. But even at that, they’re down 89 percent in recent months.

STEPHANOPOULOS:

Based on – based on the conversations you all have had so far, do you have a clear idea of what the United States is looking for to prevent the implementation of the tariffs?

HILLMAN: Well, the focus has been on the border, fentanyl and illegal migration. And as I say, we – we’ve invested in a lot of equipment. We’ve invested in additional infrastructure. And we have put together a plan that we are implementing with the border czar, Tom Homan. We met with him on Friday. We walked through it. We have joint exercises. We have joint training. And we’re going with officials from the White House, our police agency, to China in the coming days to – to try and grapple with the precursor issue. So, it’s hard to know what more we can do, but we’re obviously open to any other suggestions that come our way.

You keep repeating the propaganda lies of the current administration.

The American drug company led by the Sackler family is responsible for the opioid crisis.

Trudeau is heroically standing up for Canada's innocence and honour while America gets drunk on lies.
Speaking of propaganda, you have painted only part of the picture . The Canadian Ambassador says Canada is feverishly working on the CCP precursor problem.

"Precursor problem" refers to chemical fentanyl precursors from China,

Do not be surprised if these Canadian tariffs are lifted within days after they go into effect!

Canada is bending over backwards to get America to climb down but this is a lost cause.

Fentanyl is just an excuse to declare a "state of emergency" and assume dictatorial powers.

Economist and former Deputy Canadian Prime Minister Freeland appeared on your favourite CNN and declared that Canada will win this trade war.

Zakaria said, “You’ve talked about, uh, you know, 100% tariffs on some things. You talked about a boycott of American goods, which would not be a formal legal thing, but you’re just urging Canadians to stop buying American goods when they go to grocery stores. Is it also are you also thinking in your proposals of doing something on oil? You know, we import a lot of oil from Canada.”

Freeland said, “I’m glad you mentioned the boycott because that is already happening across the country. Americans have to understand how hurt and, frankly, how furious Canadians are. Our sovereignty is being challenged. So, yeah, regular Canadians across the country are coming up with ways to stand for Canada, to fight for Canada, to defend Canada, but mostly to say to our American neighbors, guys, just cut it out. Just stop it. This is a terrible idea.”

There will be no oil boycott, Canada is reliant on oil exports to U.S., and the U.S. refinery system is designed to handle Canadian grades of oil.

80% were Americans because they were the most anti-communist, which is why America also got involved in Vietnam. These were their wars.

Many

Many Western nations contributed armed forces to the UN effort in Korea, including Canada with 27,000.

Of course, about 80% of the UN forces and all of the high command were American.

Some Canadian commanders openly operated in violation of their American orders.

Stock markets are tumbling and Trump's legs turned to jelly. The man is just not up to a fight, so why does he keep picking them?

In any event, it's a one month reprieve so there's no deal yet.

You have been crying wolf for ages about crashes. Much like your climate doomsday predictions it has never come to pass.

Clearly Wall Street is not concerned with the these tariffs. Not at all. As evidenced by Wall Street remaining at near record highs.

You are so wound up about tariffs. As Rand says tariffs are simply taxes. That is all. A policy tool available to all sovereign nations.

Conservatives traditionally favour low taxes.
Socialist Globalists are on the other end of the spectrum.

The Lone Star State has 0% sales tax while your Guru Governor Newsom imposes 12% sales tax in CA.

When will you start agitating about that?

America vs Canada trade war.
America is the far bigger economy and the 800 pound gorilla in that fight. Your doomsday analysis is all wrong. Canada has far more to lose and will blink.

LOL. The tariffs are over in less than 24 hours. Sure made Bart look like his usual self after all that frenzied posting. Canada had to cave. They would have gone into recession immediately.

They are also unable to refine their own oil.

Gi1FItxXUAAdYsl

Do you see on the map how Canada cannot send oil from the west part of Canada to the eastern part of Canada without having it pass through the US? See that dashed line. That was a project cancelled because environmentalist whackos stopped it.

Canada realises that if you stand up to Trump that he'll fold like a cheap suit.
ROFL. That's more cope and salt than usual. Canada doing everything that Trump wanted them to do = Trump caving. :-D

Trump promised that I'd be tired of winning but I'm not. First all those marxists at USAID gone, tomorrow dept of education(the entity responsible for an explosion in spending at the same time as producing more and more illiterate students).

Trump should just go ahead and put the tariffs on as a punishment to Trudeau for making Trump threaten to use tariffs instead of just closing his border in the first place. :-D:-D

Canada, Mexico and America became one integrated market eventually called NAFTA and RONALD REAGAN was its author. Everything is integrated. It can't and won't be split by Trump.

What has Trudeau given up?
See I knew you had no shame.
Trudeau:
"I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border. In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million. Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together."

The crazy thing is, this is something Canada should have been doing in the first place without having to be forced to do so by the US. They should want to protect their own borders as well.

No one is seeing this as a win for Canada, well no one who isn't delusional.

And Mexico just arrested El Ricky a big cartel leader just after Trump pressured them to do something about the cartels. My guess is that they could have done this any time during the last 3-4 years.

It was worth it even if it didn't do anything just to humiliate Fidel's son on his way out. Why did Trudeau do anything if he knew Trump was going to cave? He should have just waited for Trump to cave.

Trump doesn't believe in tariffs. He just swings his dick hoping people will be impressed. There will be no return to domestic manufacturing. The working class got stiffed as usual.

On the other hand, tariffs are useful against the EU and China in geopolitical terms only as they do nothing for domestic manufacturing.

The EU and China need to form a de facto alliance if Europe is smart.
