Evans is beating Cilic tonight

Predictable. Although it would be slightly underwhelming for me if Evans became one of the top players in the future.
He looks too "normal". Midway between the chav and the regular British person you see every day when you live in the UK.

That's a bit of an odd comment. Where in the UK are you based? If anything, it feels even better if someone "normal" reaches the top

the best part of scoring these kind of bets isn't the profit, but being right about two underdogs. if only i'd bet more than just 22 bucks hehehe

(i'm from brazil, so it's all in portuguese, but hopefully you can understand it)

That is a good return for you - are you planning to place any more bets?

I give up!! "Midway between a chav and a regular British person". Is that the abyss?

Good call. But nothing will ever surpass that thread about Querrey defeating Djokovic at Wimbledon.

The problem here is that @ScentOfDefeat has extremely high standards. You see, he lives in a country where everyone is so incredibly dazzling that it's actually hard to believe such a place exists. As a result, our celebrities and champions are the crème de la crème. One of our most recent "celebrities" looked exactly like Sid from Ice Age. You just can't compete with that.

Are you talking about the genius that is Jessica Athayde?

Nope. I'm talking about Maria Leal, that marvellous "singer". If you haven't seen her infamous video, don't do it now, man. Don't do it. A significant chunk of my previously healthy neurons committed seppuku after seeing that absolute disgrace.

you are actually right! his shirt definitely looks like a Uniqlo http://www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/190240
From the AO site

Not everyone is sponsored
There’s a belief that anyone you see in the second round of a Grand Slam tournament must have been given their tennis clothing by a sponsor and be paid to wear it, but not Daniel Evans. The British player warmed up for his second-round match against seventh seed Marin Cilic by heading to a Melbourne clothes shop and buying eight $19.99 shirts and eight pairs of shorts following the decision of his clothing sponsor to drop him from 1 January. Evans said he was more concerned with the shirts than the shorts, but doesn’t expect to have to go back for more because he played the whole of his four-set victory over Cilic in one of each. The worrying thing for him is that he hasn’t yet been called by another clothing sponsor with an offer, but maybe now he’s beaten the world No.7 and will be ranked well inside the top 50 after this Australian Open, the phone will start ringing.

Probably, but i'm yet to analyse the odds for the matches taking place later today

do you bet by any chance?

I engage in a bit of betting from time to time - usually go through British sites (bet365 and Will Hill are popular) - some of them offer very attractive odds. Konta, for instance, was worth £22 at the start of the tournament, which is apparently longer odds than what they offered for her on Australian sites

I mean you can imagine if someone was crazy enough to put like 500 or a thousand on Sam Querrey before that match.
