He is playing Hurkacz in a couple hours. I hope he wins, and this win becomes the start of something beautiful. The boost needed to become Thiem 2.0. We believe in you Thiem, no choking. #TeamThiem
2019/2020 Thiem couldn't beat Hurkacz....and he also lost to him recently

I never said it was going to be easy. But if we all watch him together, anything can happen. I believe the subtle changes in vibrations in the air of us all turning our TVs on at the same time and planting our asses on a couch may cause a butterfly effect, resulting in one of Thiem's backhands landing flush on the line instead of three metres outside the baseline, causing a crucial shift in momentum in Thiem's favour, and allowing him to win the match. Have faith brother.

idk man, I'm reluctant to call for Thiem 2.0, I want Djo to break all the records first.

Physically Thiem has been playing good enough to win titles, but his IQ was incredibly low in the Rublev match.
Thiem had been playing brilliant backhand slices all week and everyone was saying he'd added a new weapon to his bag, and his variety now is better than ever.
But when he played Rublev he hardly played any backhand slices, and when he played them he won the point.
He's had match-up issue with Rublev, but his newfound backhand slice had the potential to change that, if he chose to use it.

Seb Korda is hot too -- with this final last week and bagel this morning

It should be a great match tomorrow

Thiem is back but this new version will trouble Djokovic exactly same as before maybe more as well since backhand is lethal but against Rafa it will be more of a struggle than before since 1 hand backhand is less daunting for Rafa’s game than his forehand

You have much to learn young one
Oh come on, he couldn’t come close to Hurkacz’s serve when I wrote that. Lost the first set easily. Then down 2 MPs, Hubie missed a very easy 3rd ball FH and Thiem hit the let cord again lol.

This should have been a 2-0 for Hurkacz… almost pure luck that it wasn’t… but what a turnaround and what a win it was.

Hope this is the start of something beautiful. He is indeed slowly making progress towards 2023. Hopefully a nice run at AO 2023. Hey, if Djoker ain't there, maybe he can snatch the title and make it a Cinderella story.

That's correct. It would have been 2-0, but the butterfly effect came into play just on time. Hence, you were wrong to doubt me.

In all seriousness though, I thought Thiem was the slightly better player on average throughout the course of the match. At the end of the second set, he had a dip in energy however and I also thought he might lose, but he managed to hang in there. Unfortunately my phone ran out of battery in the most crucial moment during the end of the second set tiebreaker so I didn't see anything from 5-6.

I also though Hurkacz served really well and very clutch, which is why Thiem was unable to break.

Edit: Also, he only lost the first set by one break of serve.
