Everyone Loves Patrick Mouratoglou. Passionate. Inspirational. The Genius.

Love Patrick's coaching instruction.

A Master Communicator. Patrick gets straight to the point.

When his student Rune hits it well, Patrick will scream, "Suuuuper! Ooooo-la-la!".

This is known as Positive Reinforcement. It reinforces the desired behavior and motivates the player to repeat it.

Coach Patrick's enthusiasm and passion is contagious. Passionate instruction that makes one want to get on the court.

They should make a TV series about him!
Maybe this was about him

He is such a slick con man, traching all kinds of wrong things... even my dog could "coach" Serena to victories. PM is the worst person in tennis, with too tight jeans, terrible guy.
Your dog already trained you to feed it, house it and scoop its poop. All for it to lay around all day barking at passing cars.

There is nothing your dog can’t do!

Many crucified Patrick for this signaling incident. But in hindsight we can see that he was correct. The practice was commonplace and it prompted the pioneering rule change.

The only guilty one in the U.S. Open incident was Serena who threw Coach Patrick under the bus.

"I would never cheat with my coach. We have no signaling system. That is not who I am. How dare you??? I have a daughter!".

Solid video on the slice. A little surprised that Rune is learning the fundamentals of such a basic shot at such a late stage. You would have thought his previous coaches would have had this kind of lesson with him more than 10-15 years ago. Is it staged to post on social media?

Rune might be a bit of a prop in this video but there is no question that Patrick is imparting slice wisdom to the 18 year old Rune. Maybe Rune was finishing across the body before and Patrick tweaked it.

Fed has a slice finish across the body so there is nothing wrong with that. But it is difficult to pull off the Fed finish. Most players, particularly club players, would be better off with the straight ahead finish.

Many pros employ the straight ahead finish that Patrick demonstrates here.
Fed style finish requires precise timing and skill but may be necessary to deal with heavy high balls and incoming pace Fed is facing.

Patrick's charisma is unmatched

I think he's up to very shady stuff and that his academy is basically a front for a chems brokerage, but I could listen to him talk all day

No need for salacious inaccurate Hollywood films when Patrick's achievments can directly be observed every day.
His next project is the forever-whiny Osaka.

Osaka said, “The fact that he was Serena’s coach made me want to avoid him just because his persona is so big. Then I met him, talked to him, worked with him on the court. He is a really good coach. I think I’m at a stage in my life that I don’t want to have regrets. I’d rather pull the trigger on something and I don’t want to say ‘fail’, but I feel like I need to learn as much as possible in this stage of my career.”

I do the "Fed method"
PM is definitely passionate. Particularly when it comes to improper relationships with players. Also very passionate about setting up PEDs for the players and gets them into big trouble and then bails on them.

I see we see this one the same way too sir

Well...here's the thing

I think Patrick had bigger fish to fry than Rune.

Sinner just posted a video training at PM Academy...
Do you think Rune is off the cookies completely now? It may actually help him to calm that leg development down and get a bit lighter in the lower body.

I think they're all on/off on schedules

Which is why the Sinner thing is so weird. But anyway...

Rune's legs are genetic, the gear these guys are doing won't affect size as much as stamina

Spanish biceps not withstanding

He's a Dunlop guy even when the brand isn't that popular these days. I appreciate that. He's a trend setter not a follower. He's doing a lot for tennis these days and the sport needs all the help it can get, so it's nice to have someone like this now that Nick Bolleterri is gone.

I like the guy

But he's also dirty and is central to the doping problem (if you think it's a problem)

Cahill as well

I think you’re right about legs. Particularly things like calves. Although if you already have the genetics, some cookies will help!

What do you think Sinner is on? Products to help with joint recovery and tissue advancement and maybe muscular endurance?

He dated or was in an intimate relationship with Serena while also being her coach for a good stretch there. Definitely mixed business with pleasure.
It’s a very complicated situation because the power dynamic is quite unusual, given that the player is actually the employer, but yes you’re right. Patrick is part of a pretty murky tradition in tennis of coaches exploiting the necessity for a huge degree of trust, time spent, and intimacy in a player / coach professional relationship to migrate things to a different kind of personal intimacy that is not professional.

Was (were) the relationship(s) consensual?

I'm not sure what you object to. Could you be a be more specific on your concern here?
I didn't exactly object to it, a different poster did. I merely explained what he was referring to finding that inappropriate.
Yes the relationship appeared to be consensual.

Are you suggesting that Serena (as the one with the power) was the one being inappropriate here? Something like "if you want to keep working for me, you have to have sex with me"?

Or are you saying Patrick was being inappropriate?

Did you miss the whole "sexual revolution"? Who do you think should decide for Serena who she is allowed to have sex with? Or are you suggesting that she didn't "decide", but was "manipulated". Is that because she's a woman? Is she too stupid or "fragile" to decide these things for herself?

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on this (no joking).

FYI, Serena was born in 1981. Patrick coached her from 2012 to 2022. So depending on when the relationships started, she was at least 30 years old (and probably older). Do you think she wasn't quite old enough to decide for herself?

We heard it from both parties. Serena and Patrick both agreed it was a mistake and unprofessional.

If your parents or career advisors have never discussed this with you, let me be the first to tell you - don’t sleep with your clients lol.
