Exercise Headaches

Lately, when I've been lifting, I've been getting exercise headaches. Is my workout just too intense or what is going on? I've only ever gotten one exercise headache before, during a sprinting workout.

Exercise tends to raise blood pressure, and weight lifting in particular notoriously does this. Check your BP next time you have a headache.

I'd second whta he says only take it on step further. -- Get your Blood Pressure checked by your physician ASAP.

Make sure you are properly hydrated...water is best. You should be drinking lots of water even though you are lifting and not necessarily doing cardio.

I get them a lot, but only when I don't rehydrate after a run.

The headaches maybe in part to your diet, do you have a balanced diet that goes in accordance to your specific work-out regimen? I normally get headaches, when I am hungry, but everyone's body chemistry is not the same.

This happens to me sometimes as well. I've kept track of hydration, eating etc. etc. and while I'm still not 100 percent sure, I think it has a lot to do with physical stress and tension in the upper back and neck. When I go to a massage therapist regularly I do not have this problem. I would suggest seeing a massage therapist, but make sure you find a good one - they are not all the same.
