Extended footage of an old video of me hitting

So, I'm selling my camcorder in preparation of buying a new one and I wanted to make sure I got all the vids from my tapes. So, I found some new software that lets me transfer the video easily to the computer and decided to put up some old clips. Here is one of me hitting with my friend at night the extended version which didn't last long. Will post more when i get them from the tapes.

OK there edberg, cool footage. You forgot some details like, what model/kind of new cam are you getting and what is the software that makes it easy to digitize/download your old tapes.

Where is the movie of our match? JK, too bad we didn't have the cam set up.

Hopefully soon. I'm actually going down to the Long Beach airport on Wednesday and might be able to get a hit in before my plane leaves at 9:20. I would like to squeeze in a singles match with you or onehandbh at that time.

Otherwise i wouldn't be till 08 as were hitting tahoe after christmas.

Well, I'm getting something that has a hard drive because I hate fooling around with several different tapes. Of course the quality of the vid is insanely good with the camcorder that I'm selling. As far as the software what I actually ended up doing was connecting my camcorder to a new dvd recorder that I bought and burning a disc and using AOA dvd converter to convert some clips to .avi or any other kind of vid file. I may be coming back into your neck of the woods again next year in Feb. or so. I will let you know for sure. And I'll be sure to record this time as last time we had some pretty darn good points. 35ft6, are you in that neck of the woods as well? Mind getting together for a hit as well. Perhaps we could get some dubs in. As far as the snowboarding I plan on going but probably next year as well. Rumor has it that, Taos is opening it's mountain to snowbarders next year.

Man, you're going through a lot of steps to get your footage into the computer. Do you have a firewire/IEEE 1394 input on your computer? Well, with the hard drive system, you'll be able to digitize at faster than real time.

Oh, ok. I fly into LAX when I come into town there for the conference. And yeah I do have a firewire but I dunno, it just wasn't easy. And the video would always be choppy and have no sound in some parts. It was a total pain so the way I did it gave the best quality.

That is the exact one that I had. It was good, but I'd rather have the ones with the hard drive.

About the video, man, people should just get a Mac for that stuff. Even a Mac Mini, it's just plug and play. iMovie will instantly recognize the camera, digitizing is as easy as hitting record on a VCR. I've never heard of people having problems with Firewire, the kind you're describing, but maybe because everybody I know who does that sort of thing uses Mac. Of course, I'm sure plenty of people, even just at TW boards alone, have used Windows successfully for this stuff but still...

If I come there it will be in Feb most likely. And yes I will be getting a Mac just for those reasons of clip editing and transfering vids. The only thing that sucks about a Mac is that if something goes wrong with it. I don't know enough about them to work on them myself like I do with PCs. I'll keep you guys informed as to when I'll be coming there.

^ You won't have hardware problems with a Mac, and if you have software issues, the solutions are usually pretty intuitive, and if not, go to MacRumors.com or Macworld.com for their Forums, which are very active and helpful. Macs are incredibly low maintenance. Stuff just works.
