Troy I know your a fan of the extended yonex rkts specifically the e zone 98 plus
i also enjoy this rkt
recently , probably age related ( still can crack a big serve and quick hands but court coveraage reflects age ( 73)
so playing more doubles do you find our current rkts ( extended yonex) much of a detriment and do you recommend switching to the following ( rkts I have) or STICKING WITH THE YONEX
1) Head graphity + extreme. pro tour
2) Aero pure Drive 2016 model
3 technifibre the model Medvedev endorses
4 technifibre TF 40 older not new version
Thanks in advance
you have. een spot on on your recommendations in the past

I don't necessarily find the EZONE 98+ to be much of a detriment for me when playing doubles. I think that because I am used to its specs, having weight added to the handle it feels pretty headlight, it just feels like an extension of my arm. Also, I tend to strategically choke up on the handle a bit when I move forward or come to the net, but still get the benefit of the length when serving and most of the time from the baseline.

As far as the list of racquets that you mentioned above, I guess it really comes to what you want to change from your current racquet. The Gravity Pro will feel pretty hefty, but very solid and stable, and the Gravity Tour is a bit more maneuverable, and versatile, while still having pretty good feel. The AeroPro Drive 2016 is pretty fast, and maneuverable, it has a stiffer feel and easy power, but not as much comfort or feel for the ball. The TFight 305 RS (Medvedev) has that high swingweight, and a slightly firmer feel to the EZONE 98+ and maybe a bit more control in comparison, but might need some handle weight to help with maneuverability. The TF40 is a very nice feeling racquet, with a solid feel, I have been hitting with the newer 2022 version quite a bit lately. Maybe a step down in power compared to the EZONE 98+, but a slight increase in control and feel. It has decent maneuverability in stock form, but a slight downside is that it is somewhat difficult add handle weight to the TF40 or TFight (any Tecnifibre) because they don't have a trap door. You could try a leather grip for some handle weight, which is what playtester Chris did with his TF40 305 racquets.

Anyway, hope some of that information helps.

Yes, I did add a leather grip on the EZONE 98+. I also added a half size shrink sleeve, because the grips were slighty smaller than I preferred, so I think the combination of the two added something like 17-19 grams to the handle. So mine ended up being relatively headlight.
